Default High velocity .22 cal Long Rifle anmo in a .22/32 Bekeart HFT?

Is it safe to shoot high velocity ammunition in one of these?

Are you referring to ammo marked ".22LR"? If so, that stands for ".22 Long, Rifle", denoting the use of the Long case (as opposed to Short) with the 40 grain bullet, intended for use in rifles, where the heavier bullet gives better performance. The Short and Long both use the 29 grain bullet, the main difference being the case length.
The use of High-Velocity ammo in the Bekeart model is something I would discourage.

FYI
Larry

Yes .22 Long Rifle. Post was corrected. Sometimes when you type the phone automatically selects an unintended word.

High Velocity .22 ammunition didn't appear on the market until the 1930s and many older .22s were not designed for higher chamber pressures of the HV cartridges. In general it is not dangerous to shoot HV ammunition in older guns, but if you can find standard velocity or target .22 ammunition, it would be preferable to use it.

I'm pretty sure you will find POA/POI and grouping much more satisfactory with standard velocity. I know, it seems all you can find some days is High Velocity. I have a brick of Win 40 gr. 1435 FPS, not sure what I will do with them, probably burn it u in the 10-22.

The standard LR does around 1200fps and should be ok.

The newer stuff at 1280 as well as the warm yellow jacket and
hot Stinger, should be left to the newer weapons.

Lots of the old weapons fired the .22 Long ...............
It was king of the hill until the companies finally came out with the Long Rifle loading.

I too would discourage the use of 22rf ammunition marked HV in the older firearm(s),,seems just natural.

....But I have a question if any of the scientist types out there can answer for me...

When you look at the SAAMI specs for RF ammunition:
http://www.saami.org/specifications_...MI_Rimfire.pdf
Scroll down to page 6 of the pdf for the chart.....

All the 22LR is grouped together. The only way to sort them out is by bullet style, weight and velocity differences.
From that chart you can easily see the Standard Vel ammo in the mix among the various HV loads.

But,,all the loads regardless of velocity (standard vel & HV) are rated at the same Max Average Pressure of 24,000psi.

Further down the chart is listed 'Match Ammunition', both Rifle and Pistol. Obviously Standard Vel stuff at 1100 and 1135fps (the pistol ammo is faster?).
But again the Max Average Pressure is the same as a Stinger 22LR at 24,000psi.

Even the lowly 22Long in it's very own catagory is rated at the same pressure.

So why are Standard Vel 22LR's considered lower pressure ammo when the industry standards allow them to be loaded to the same maximum pressure as any other High/Hyper Vel 22 L/R ammo.

Lower Velocity but not necessarily lower chamber pressure,,or what is my completely non scientific mind not seeing?
