Lots of different target wadcutter loads.
Several lead round nose.
Magtech has a JHP.
Georgia Arms has a JHP.
Buffalo Bore has a hard cast full wadcutter loaded my faster than the target wadcutters. For the self defense user.
There are a few other niche companies like Load-x and Reed's Ammo that have hollow points and SWCs.
No shortage of different loads for 32 S&W long.

And of course you can fire .32 S&W cartridges in any .32 S&W Long revolver. I have never seen anything other than lead RN bullets in .32 S&W. Got five boxes of Remington .32 S&W on sale for $10/box at Academy last month.

I had a small J frame Smith in 32 S&W Long. I used to really like the shorter 32 S&W in it also...real pleasant to shoot with low report.
I used to load Hornady wadcutters in the 32 Long.

In with several S&W revolvers I bought about ten years ago were two .32s in fine condition, perhaps unfired. I don't remember the model numbers but one had fixed sights, the other had an adjustable rear sight. I kept these guns long enough to work up some good cast loads using an RCBS mould that cast an 88 grain flat nose, sized to .314".
Our tastes are all different, but at the time I found the cartridge to be an incredibly puny round, far less useful than a .38 Special. The .32 is probably best as a cast bullet cartridge; couldn't imagine wasting time with a jacketed bullet due to the ballistic limitations.
I sold both revolvers at a gun show. If I found another such gun today in good shape at a decent price, however, I might buy it to shoot up the several boxes of handloads I have. I realize that justification is not a good one.
A friend gave me a partial box of factory Remington .32 S&W (the short one) he retrieved from a closet in his dad's home. These were probably manufactured in the 1930s, maybe 40s. I still have some cartridges left, but don't remember the bullet weight. I chronographed a few rounds and muzzle velocities were in the 500 fps range. I don't know what you could safely shoot these at other than cardboard without fear of the bullets bouncing back.

As mentioned, there are several loads for the 32 S&W Long. In the last year or so, I've explored the .32 caliber some and like it. This includes the ACP, S&W, S&W Long, H&R Mag and Federal Mag. For lots of non-magnum fun, the Fiocchi 100 gr LWC in S&W Long seems to do well in both J & K frames.

Reloading is a way to go, My I frame is about as accurate as a K38 with Lapua wadcutters. Several wadcutter loads available from the European ammo companies as they use the 32 long as a Bullseye round much more so than in the US.

+1
Had a 4" 30-1 that did well using the 100 gr. LWC, but sold it after acquiring a 16-4.
The old saying; "never sell a gun unless you have to" comes to mind...

My range won't allow LRN. Instead, I use Magtech SJHP or Fiocchi FMJ. The Fiocchi are hard to find and only available a couple times a year when the run a batch so stock up.

The LGS here has plenty of S&B wadcutters. Most of the usual on line sellers list it also.

Yes, the S&B brand is the only one I have seen loaded with full wadcutters in .32 Long. At one time, Academy stocked them.

I reload this caliber, but have also bought several boxes of European 32 Long ammo. Many are stocked in SWC or WC which perform very well in these revolvers. Brands available are Fiocchi, Sellier & Bellot, Magtech, Remington, Prvi Partizan, and Aguila, and probably more.
There is a reason why they stamp 32 Long on the barrel . . . this model shoots very accurate with the right cartridge.

If anyone is looking for Vintage .32 ammo and .32 S&W, or even .32 Long, let me know. I am selling 30+ boxes including some .32RF and .32RF LONG (for the #2 Army).

Your best prices will probably be with Fiocchi, PPU, S&B and Magtech. I like Fiocchi best...
