Can't find any .44 spl.ammo lower than 240 gr.
Are there any .44 spl. ammo lower than 240 gr.? I went to Walmart and that's the lowest they had,and I also went to a LGS that all they had too.I want some to shoot at the range.

All I can tell you is to reload and mold your own.
200 gr WC is what I shoot out of most of my .44 Specials.

You should be able to find Blazer 200 grain ammo at any of the big box sporting goods stores.

Winchester puts out a slivertip hollow point load. And PMC does a copper jacketed 180 grain load. I agree with the OP finding it does present at problem. I'm hoarding the last 5 boxes of the winchester silvertip 100 rounds. But have cast bullets, cases, powder and dies to load them. Frank

Try Magtech 200 gr LRN. Cheap and pretty accurate.

Hornady loads 165 and 180-gr .44 Spl that seems readily available.

The only place I found 44 spl was 246gr for $48 at of all places was at Gander Mt.
I bought the dies, casings and 165gr coated bullets and reload my own. $48 for 50 rounds was totally wrong but I wanted to shoot it the day I got the gun.
I totally like shooting 44 spl.

I reload a 240gr LSWC in 44 Special and 44 Magnum for about $5.50 box of 50 target loads
Remington 44spl 246gr LFP ammo is $45 a box of 50

240 grain refers to the bullet size. You should be able to shoot that at any range where you can shoot .44 special.

.44 Special is my favorite handgun cartridge. You won't get much recoil reduction from 200 grain ammo because it is loaded to higher velocity than the 246 grain RNL traditional.
Winchester and Remington's standard 246 grainers shoot at a chronographed 700 fps through my 4 inch Model 24-3 and not much faster through my Colt SAA 7-1/2 incher. They are *****cats and easily duplicated. Winchester's brass is better than Remington's, far fewer split case bodies.
I bought 1,000 brand new cartridge casings from Starline and want to try quality commercial cast bullets this time. Shopping for a vendor who will make mine with a Lyman 429421 mold sized to 0.432"

A 240gr LSWC over 4.0gr of Trail Boss is a nice 44 Special target round.
A 240gr LSWC over 5.5gr of Unique is a nice target round
A 240gr LSWC over 5.0grs of Bullseye is a nice 44 Magnum target round

Like slickracer said, .44 Special is one of the easiest to reload and a great place to start if you've not done any reloading yet. I still used the old lee loader doing them one at a time and enjoy the process as well as saving money over the factory loads.
