Default A pleasant surprise

While in a Walmart here in Vegas I drifted over to sporting goods and noticed quite a bit of 9mm ammo at a good price...so I got 3 100 rnd boxes of Winchester 9 mm 115 gr. FMJ (brass) for $61..that includes tax. and breaks down to around 20 cents per rnd. Not bad I say.

Nice to be able to get the ammo immediately instead of waiting for mail order delivery...and at a good price.

Winchester, Fiocchi & Remington, which I use have been selling on-line for .21-.24, depending on quantity.

Not sure which manufacturers you're referring to.

Several months ago I bought some Remington 115 grain FMJ at Academy which after rebate and including sales taxe was a bit shy of $9/box (18 cents per round). But a far cry from the typical $5/box of the pre-Obama days.

The Walmart here recently had a clearance on a bunch of ammo.

Grabbed me 7 cases of Perfecta 9mm at 4.50 a box of 50
Federal 300winmag at 3.50 a box of 20
Federal 12ga 00 2.00 a box of 5
Perfecta 45acp at 6.00 a box of 50
Perfecta .223 at 3.75 a box of 30

got it all except the 7mm08, car was so low to the ground didn't know if I'd make it home.

With Walmart reducing their prices for ammo I wonder if they are in the process of discontinuing ammo or are trying to move out overstocked items.
Anyone know?

Walmart here had Winchester 9mm with good prices but then noticed the boxes 115 FMJ/JHP and 147 JHP/FMJ were mixed and stacked in the wrong place. I also noticed the unconcerned dumb look on the kids face working there so I just walked on. I've been stocking up on Herters and Blazer 9mm the LGS has on sale $9.99

The local WM had 9mm on sale for $7.88/box. Only problem was that they had sold out when I was there, no idea if they would get any more.

I wish WM in my area would have sales on ammo--which they never do have.

The WMs in my area have knowledgable people working in Sporting goods--some of them are women who know more than their male counterparts.

Bought some Mini mags at Sportsman Warehouse.
Didn't really need any, it was just so nice to reach into a big pile and grab some!
