Default Georgia Arms - 38 Spl +P 158 gr LHP

Anyone try this ammo? Looks like a good price also. I read a review that it chronos near Remington's +P loading.

Looks like a great practice round.

Georgia Arms makes affordable 1st quality ammo. My favorite is a .44mag fmj moving at 1000 fps. Joe

I have been using their ammo for years. But I have not used that one yet.But every other caliber I have used has been good.Their 158 gr fmj flat point shoots to point of aim in all my smiths.

I've shot a fair amount of their ammo, both new and Reloads in .38 and .357. Everything I've tried shot very well. Their lead bullets shoot very dirty but I would say as accurate as any other factory loads I've tried. They have a .357 jacked round called "Deer Slayer" if I remember the name correct and it's about as "hot" as anything I've ever used based on recoil, flash and bang.

Default Georgia Arms ammo

I have been using their reloads for many years and have not had a misfire or problem with their ammo. I order 1000 rounds of .40 caliber in can heat loose that is contained in a military ammo can. Since I sold my XD .40 and purchased the Springfield XD(E) in 9mm, I ordered 250 rounds from them a few weeks ago. I will try the ammo out next week at the range. The ammo was can heat that was shipped in the military ammo can. They have fast delivery by Federal Express and price was great. You will not be sorry for the purchase with that company,

Nick

I use Georgia Arms also, mostly .38 Special target loads, 148 grain wadcutters, and 158 grain SWC's.

I just ordered another shipment the other day, this time I ordered some of the 158 grain LSWCHP +P. I am also curious what people think about this load. Has anyone else used it? How is it compared to the bigger name ammo makers same load? Has anyone tested it? Chrono or gel?

Thanks,
Fox

I chronographed some of this load through a 2” M60 about a year ago and got a five shot average of 812 FPS.
My results with a 4” M10 were 855 FPS but these are suspect because the revolver turned out to have a .013 barrel cylinder gap which is over twice the standard. The same gun averaged 817 FPS with Remington 158 grain +P LHP from the ‘80s. Shooting the Remington through a .38 GP-100 with a .004 BCG resulted in an average of 891 FPS.
I suspect that the Georgia Arms load would exceed 900 FPS easily in the Ruger.

+1 for Georgia Arms ammo. Have used it for years. Now that I’m aware they load a 158-gr+P LHP I’ll order some from them as I lie that old load. I’ve been carrying that load for years in my 442 Airweight (in a Federal loading).
