All these great rifle bullets to choose from...but Remington's Core Lokt loadings are still great game takers. I would not hesitate to take the appropriate Remington Core Lokt loading on any hunt in the United States. They were good enough for Jack O'Conner and other legends, and they are still great for me.

My favorites:

243 - 100 gr Core Lokt
270 - 130 gr Core Lokt
30-06 - 150 gr Core Lokt
30-30 - 150 and 170 Core Lokts

The 150gr CL in 30-06 can be pushed to factory spec's with a lot
of different powders and performs well on the deer size animals
that I have used it on, being a CXP3 rated bullet.
However the .338 BC is not the best and 325 yards on deer is
getting the most out of it at 2880fps.

In my custom 1903 bolt action I tried it at 3.30" OAL down to the 3.19"
where I crimped it c/o the cannelure.
With the short OAL and 4895 powder at just 2730fps this was
super accurate for me and did not destroy a lot of meat and
still had 1600 ft/lbs of energy at 300 yards.

It works.
