Default Federal's 243 Load with Sierra 85 Gr HPBT

Since Federal decided to discontinue load P243D which'd use the Sierra 85 Gr HPBT, if there are any fans of this loading by some chance took the time to measure these rounds to get the OAL. Thank you in advance, and may your powder stay dry and your groups be tight.

I've found the ogive to land distance (sorta like OAL) is one of the most important considerations when working up an accurate load. I've found that two identical rifles will each have their own preferred OAL and it must be worked up and can't be predicted.

I have found that the longest that will fit in a ammo box without any problems
is the longest OAL allowed in my 270 and 30-06 paper ammo boxes.

I don't know if this will work with your caliber, since I don't own one....
and then the is always the internet OAL data to look up.

Old timers "Smoked" their loads to get a OAL then backed it off a touch.
However, never use this type of ammo in any other rifle, due to
pressure problems or stuck bullets that may result, if not fired
and the tried to extract.
