Default AVOID THIS AMMO

Great Lakes re-manufactured ammo is junk. Don't buy it. The most inconsistent loads I've ever experienced. Just a "heads up"

The best re-loaded (re-manufactured) ammo you can get is what you make yourself on your own Press, IMHO. No Company will take the time, trouble and effort as we as we are able to spend ourselves, due to low profit margins in that industry.

Thanks for the heads-up. The only *Factory* Re-Man ammo I've ever used that at least worked reliably was from Black Hills.

Remanufactured ammo is always iffy in my book. We see it for sale at gun shows in boxes with hand written labels and I just don't feel like the few cents you save are worth it.
Back a few years ago when .380 was hard to find, a gunsmith in the area was making 380 to sell. My local shop bought up a bunch of it to sell to guys who were buying 380 pistols. He overloaded the charges. Thankfully, no one got hurt, but 2 new Kel Tec pistols came back to the shop in pieces.

Default Re Man

My son went to a gun show in Hampton. 9mm was $85 per 500.
It was from a supplier he had bought from before with no problems. He picked me up a box of 500 9mm Berry's for $45. Almost not worth loading target ammo. He reloads but puts in some long hours and travels so its just easier for him to buy.

I too have bought from LAX, the new stuff only in 38 special,357 mag, 41 mag, and 44 special. No problems at all. Get on their email list and about once a month they offer free shipping on minimum orders of their brand ammo.

I just visited G. L reman web page.. Looks to me like they also charge what I can get new ammo for. I'm always getting emails from various companies offering 1,000 rds of 115 gr fmj 9mm for well under their reman prices.

Thanks for the info....I have shot thousands upon thousands of freedom munitions reman with only one with a bad primer. Which has happened to me with factory new ammo in the past as well.

Why even consider RM ammo when you can buy new ammo for the same price! (ie, Blazer Brass .45ACP 230 gr.) @ $12.39 a 50 rd. box?

I'm working my way through 1,000 remanufactured 9mm 115 grain that cost me around 15 cents each including sales tax. So far, out of maybe 350, I've had 2 or 3 failures.

Works for me.

Zero reman. ammo is very high quality. I also like their bullets for reloading. I get their products at Roze Distribution, Inc. - Zero Bullets and Ammunition

I didn't think the prices were really out of line, and the Zero ammo includes shipping IIRC.

Default I'm glad to see.....

I'm glad to see that quality reloaded ammo is being taken seriously by commercial outfits. Back when we didn't NEED refurbished ammo so much, Any that I tried were HORRIBLE. You never knew if you were going to get a 'pow' or a 'BOOM'.

I would never buy reloaded Ammo no matter who makes it.
I reload My Own and would never sell any either.

In general, that is good advice, but there are companies that have been reloading ammo for decades that is top quality. I have a lot of experience with Zero. Precision Delta also has a great reputation. Black Hills is good also. There are others.

There is absolutely no reason that a plant can.t reload once fired brass with every bit as much quality as one that uses new brass. Heck reloaded=rs do it all the time. Good equipment and quality control is need. Everyone know about some problems that have occurred with various factory new ammo.

I won't buy reloaded ammo at a gun show, or order it online. You never know what you're going to get, or if it's safe. I tried Freedom Munitions once and that was enough for me. Honestly, with sale prices on new ammo, that seems a better way to buy, and then you have once fired factory brass to reload. I won't reload ammo for anyone else, that just opens a whole new can of worms! And I won't shoot anyone else's reloads, even if I know them. A guy I work with was shooting his Sig 9mm and I was in the next shooting lane. He had a Fail to Feed and couldn't get the slide to go into battery. I told him to check the chamber/barrel and sure enough, there was a bullet lodged just forward of the chamber!! Had it been any farther into the barrel, he would surely have pulled the trigger again. He was shooting his reloads. I no longer go shooting with him.

Bob's Bullets located in the laundry room is the purveyor of the finest ammo to every come off a Dillon 450 / 550. Because Cheap Bob uses bullets cast from scrap mined from the berm at an outdoor range, standard center fire ammo costs less than 22 LR.

Bob's brass is never surgically clean, helps keep the cost down!

Great stuff there. Very high quality and consistency. Enough so that I've shot it in competition despite reloading my own.

Default Amazingly....

Amazingly there are a few good 'remanufacturing' guys out there. But I can make my own and just blame myself if the ammo isn't right. There's just too much inconsistent stuff out there.
