Default .22 Ammo Galore!

Yesterday, I was at Cabela's in Tualatin (just south of Portlandia). The selection of .22 ammo was huge! Prices, well, not what we had long ago, these were $30-$50 a brick, depending on what they were. Regardless of the price, one should consider stocking up now. That's if you enjoy shooting rimfire.

If there's ever another shortage, try to be the one who gives ammo to your friends!

During the last shortage, there was lots of griping, mainly by folks who hadn't thought ahead. Now is the time to think ahead!

The ammo makers found out what we were willing to pay. Who knows what the price will jump to next time.

Glad that you found the "Mother load" and filled up.

Just that I will not buy it...........
and wait for the non income to the companies to bring the prices down.

Pay backs are a bitc* !!

I didn't actually buy any, I was just reporting what I saw. I'm hoping that some may have learned a lesson with the last shortage, and act accordingly.

I'll be shooting bricks marked $12 and $15 'til the cows come home!

I know we will never see a brick of 22LR ammo for $10 (2¢ a round) but I still refuse to pay more than 5¢ a round ($25/brick), 4¢ a round ($20/brick) is even better. I have been able to buy some ammo at that price but it's rare. Unfortunately every time I go to my Cabela's in Pa they have very little .22 ammo and never 500 round bricks.

Actually, with inflation figured in, we are paying just about the same as we were paying in the mid 50's. I am fine with that.

Used to be able to get the 550 Federal 36 grain HP for about 15 bucks at Walmart before the shortage. GM also would have the 525 box at the same price after a MIR.

The best I have seen in the last year is Federal Auto Match 350 round box for 15$ and that was at BP during a black Friday sale. 2 box limit.

But I have to say, that automatch has been perfect in my S&W Victory and my Marlin model 60.

I have not seen the 525 or 550 bulk anywhere since the shortage. This includes Federal, Remington, and Winchester.

If Wally World has .22, its about .05 in 325 boxes, or .075 in 100 round packs for mini mags. Haven't seen any there in at least 2 years.

A couple of weeks ago, I bought a 550 round bulk pack of Federal for 4.5 cents per round (including tax) at Wal-Mart. And they had a lot of it on the shelf. As cheap as I have seen it recently.

I buy nearly all my ammo from Outdoor Limited. I don't pay attention to anything other than his selling price and real-time inventory level. Rare for his price not to be the best around.

Wish these prices would apply to 22 magnum! Last year saw prices anywhere from $15 to $22 per box. Still a nice round for varmints at reasonable ranges.

Those that buy 22 Magnum, "Sweet" 16 and "Lil" 410 Ga. shotguns ............
should know what they are stepping into.

The ammo for these has never been cheap.

Let 'em choke on all that 22lr they are finally gearing up to make. Supply and demand will win out.

It is our turn to squeeze the manufactures now. Don't start stocking up yet. Payback time now.

In my area none to be had at Walmart. Local stores have some ... price will make your nose bleed. Have found good quality ammo at Target Sports. Got 5K of Aguila Super Extra for $249/del. Also got 3k of CCI Mini-Mags for $180/del. In my area the Mini-Mags always were a bit more expensive that other stuff. Very thankful to get good ammo at reasonable prices. Any .22 LR at $ .05/rd. delivered is a good price. Irrational to think that pre-2008 prices will return. Refuse to let my 18-2 sit in the dresser drawer and not get used waiting for a return to neverland. Sincerely. bruce.

I went to Cabela's today and they had some .22LR ammo. The bulk stuff is 7¢ a round and better ammo like CCI Mini-mags are 10¢+ a round. Other .22LR ammo was even more, I didn't buy anything.

Fin Feather and Fur usually has good prices on CCI Mini Mags.
