Default Match grade (or at least high grade) .243

I found that compared to ball 5.56 ammo, IMI factory loads with 69 gr, Sierra Match King HPBT really helps me to shoot tiny groups out of a barrel chambered .223 Wylde.

I also have a rifle in .243 Winchester, which I have shot with bargain price Federal Blue Box ammo. What factory load might have bullets with excellent intrinsic accuracy. Thank you

I haven't shot lot of .243 factory loads, but most has been the blue box Federal stuff in 100 grain, and it has always been more than acceptably accurate. I mostly handload 100 grain Sierra's in both flatbase and boattail. Recently loaded and shot some 80 grain Sierra's boattail that were superbly accurate. My grandson killed his first deer with one of these last year at 187 yards bang/flop/dead. Sierra used to offer their Premium ammo line loaded with Sierra's bullets, and may still. If you could lay hands on some of that I'd bet on very good accuracy. But again, you never know what a particular rifle will "like" till you try it.

Each rifle is a law unto itself when it comes to what bullet is going to shoot best. That said, across the board, in a fair number of rifles over the years, Sierra Match Kings have always been the most consistently accurate for me. I would look for factory ammo loaded with these bullets. V-MAX and Berger bullets also are usually very accurate with the right load.

I don't shoot a lot of factory ammo in my rifles, except for ball ammo for plinking, but I have found Hornady and Nosler factory stuff to be very accurate in a few different rifles & calibers I have tried it in.

But, it always pays to try a variety of the cheaper factory stuff before going for the expensive stuff, because as stated above, you never know what your rifle is going to like.

For 99.9% of my shooting these days, I shoot my own handloads. I have experimented with different brands of bullets, but I tend to gravitate towards either Sierra MatchKings or Nosler Custom Competition bullets. I try to match my loads to my rifles, and I do a fair amount of chronographing and shooting for groups. Even if I were shooting factory loaded ammo, you need to match the bullet weight to the rifling and the desired distance.

For example, I can shoot Sierra 69s at 200 yards quite well at 200 yards with my 1:7 service rifle, but they don't shoot well in that rifle beyond 200. You may find that in order to get great performance out of your rifle, you may have to use 3 or 4 different factory loads, depending upon the game and the distance you are shooting. Sometimes, it takes a greater distance for a particular bullet to stabilize.

I've always had lots of luck with Federal Premium as well as Black Hills with various weights and bullet types over the years out of a bull bbl Savage.

For reasons I cannot understand or explain, my .223 loads in IMI military brass group significantly better from my Savage 112V than with anyone else's brass. And that's with about any load. I have about 200 IMI military cases I have reloaded numerous times, neck sized only.

different ammo will shoot different in any rifle,

my weatherby VG 308, loves 150 gr Remington core locks shoots 5/8 inch groups,
but run the same ammo in my savage fp tactical and it opens up to 1 inch, and the savage will shoot one hole groups with blue box federals, and 1/2" groups with federeral gold medal match 168 gr ,

and the best I have gotten out of the federal GMM out of the weatherby is just over 1 inch

when buying a new rifle get several brands and weights until you find the best accuracy for your gun or learn to reload and build up your round for your fifle

I have even gotten cloverleafs from my savage 12vlp, with the ppu match ammo,
