Default Opinions/review of Prvi Partisan .32 acp?

Point of reference- I've gotten into collecting old .32 acp pistols, and now have a Savage 1907, a CZ 27 (definitely- with German Bohmische stamps and vertical grip serrations), and another CZ (probable 27, but with diagonal grip serrations, and the old Czech stamps, and no model stamping).

These pistols all shoot Fiocchi 73 gr FMJ in the red box great (for the record, it's listed as 7.65mm). I did try Winchester WB with the flat tip, it jammed a couple times per mag.

So I'm looking at PPU, I see a deal where I can get it at approx 9mm prices ($10.99 per box), with free shipping if I get enough.
Anyone know how it compares with Fiocchi?

I have an experience grand total of one box - and I like it. Clean burning and reliable- no feeding problems. Noticeably softer shooting than Herter's (which I think is rebranded S&B). A local Gent gave a box to me with an NAA .32 that I bought from him. I will definitely buy more if I can find someone around here who stocks it ...

I like PPU in my .32s and 9x18s. I have a P64 with a reduced power mainspring that won't reliably light up Tula steel cased but the PPUs go bang every time. Non corrosive and burns clean.

As others have said, the stuff works.

As you probably know, it was Yugoslavian, now Serbian, used to be a state-run plant that made ammo for the military, and from the looks of it successfully privatized, after first Communism and then Milosevic's genocidal Serbian nationalism failed. I've used it in the former East bloc calibers (7.62x54, -x39, 9mm Makarov etc.) with no complaints, so I expect it will deliver for you in .32 ACP also.

Just my 2 cents .

I tend to buy Prvi Partisan ammo in both .32 ACP and in .32 ACP - for the same reason.

Brass varies a lot in both calibers. For example, Hornady's .22 Hornet brass is thicker walled and lower volumed, while Remington's .22 Hornet brass is thinner walled and higher volumed. The difference is enough to require separate loads for each. Winchester and Prvi Partisan both tend to be right down the middle.

.32 ACP brass varies based on where it was made. The convention in Europe is to use a .308"-.309" bullet with a slightly thicker case. In the US, it's more common to use a .310"-.311" bullet in a thinner case. That can start to cause some feeding/chambering issues when you use a .311 cast bullet in a thicker walled case in a pistol with a tight chamber.

In both cases, I'll buy Prvi Partisan ammo because it's decent ammo and is usually available at prices that are only slightly above the cost of buying new brass in those calibers.

7.62 Nagant is another caliber where I buy Prvi Partisan, because it's good ammo - and no one else sells 7.62 Nagant on a regular basis.

Been using various calibers of the PPU Serbian ammo, and like it. To your specific question, I use it in my Colt 1903, and also in a Beretta "Tom Cat". Also have used it in my Czech VZ 50 and VZ 70 and some other odds and ends that I have. Worked flawlessly for me, and when the price is right, I will stock up on it.

Best Regards, Les

ok, thanks everyone for the input. I went ahead and ordered a case, as I really haven't seen .32 dip that low. If the market continues to drop, oh well, these are fun shooters and now I have a stash.

retailer for the PPU at that price, for those interested, is Selway. If your order is over $200, there's a free shipping code. It's the weekly special (click on the link), and since today is Sunday and this has been their deal earlier this week, this might be the last day to be able to order at that price.

I DO like PPU if the price is right, for 9mm, and shoot it in 7.65x53 Argentine (they are the only maker who keeps this ammo affordable). I've been happy with all of their rifle ammo.

In 9x19, I find their loads comparable to Fiocchi, so I figured it to be good. Just wanted some good feedback before springing for a case!

I don't own a .32, but the PPU .380 works well in the wife's S&W Bodyguard. She ran 200 rounds of it through the pistol without a hicup when the gun was brand new.

Why in the world would Winchester load this with flat nosed bullets? I thought I might have bought a specialized type, but the box was plain; and every photo I see online shows WWB with just the flat, not the round noses. These don't feed. They aren't listed as SD rds, so they should be considered range use. You'd think they would load the most feed-friendly rounds they could.

No experience with 32acp but I use PPU in a dozen different calibers and it's good stuff. I wouldn't use it as a defensive round when there are better options but it's good range ammo

The only ammo I've used from PPU is their 150 grain 30-06. It seems to be excellent so far and I would buy it again. It seems to be of high quality and consistency.

Their 22 Hornet ammo is good and the brass is excellent for reloading.

I have used PPU in 9mm and 30-30 and never had a single issue with it.

I've used a lot of PPU. It always works for me. In 7.65/.32, I have noted a surprising velocity difference between lots. Go figure. Hope you get the warmer stuff.

I have shot many PPU's in different calibers including rifles. Always priced right, always accurate and a bit under powered..

Thanks for the head's up on AIM, I hadn't checked them in awhile.

Already had the 32 coming in from Selway, so I didn't get more of that; but I did get a few rifle rds at decent prices. They had 7.65 Argentine at $14.95, 30-30 at $12.50.
Also some steel MFS 7.62x54R at $7.95 which seems to be the best price outside of surplus (which is gone now).

PPU was good to go with both the CZ and the Savage

Consistent and accurate.
