.32 RF is not extremely difficult to find, but fairly expensive when you do. Both .32 Short RF and .32 Long RF was loaded in the USA until the early 1960s, and Navy Arms imported fairly large quantities of it in the 1990s from Brazil, I think. That is mostly what is seen at gun shows. I have at least several hundred rounds of old Short and Long, but I suspect that most of it will no longer fire.

I have some EARLY .32RF and VERY EARLY (1880s) .32 LONG RF. that I will be posting for sale (with photos) next week...If there is an interest, let me know...The .32 RF LONG, in full box, is Winchester and period correct (for the #2 Old Army), but expensive.
I also have lots of VINTAGE full boxes of .32 S&W (short).

There were numerous rifles from several makers, usually single shots, which were chambered for .32 RF. Many years ago I had a Stevens Favorite rifle in .32 RF. I think Marlin once made a lever action rifle which could use both .32 S&W (CF) and .32 RF. Those .32 rifles were probably more effective than .22 rifles on small game, except the ammunition would have been more expensive.

Does the Winchester box look like this one (in .38 RF)? That style was used from the mid-1870s to about 1890.

I saw a seller at a gun show last weekend selling Navy Arms 32 Long for $100 a box. Someday, someone will make more.
Never had much use for the 32 Shorts since they are quite anemic, but the good news is that both 32 rimfire revolvers made by S&W were chambered in 32 Long. No sure what manufacturer made guns chambered for the Short round?? I still shoot my hoard of 32 ammo in several of my revolvers and a No.4 Rolling Block. Hope it lasts until the next run of ammo is made.

I really enjoyed shooting the .32 RF when the ammo was plentiful and reasonably priced. I'd buy more if it ever was brought back from the dead; but not at $100 a box.
