Default Remington umc 38 +p any good?

I've read mixed reviews about this ammo, but that are all over 5 years old. The pricing is good, but I was wondering what everyone's "updated" opinion is. This is the 125 grain sjhp.

Thanks.

Remington UMC ammo is so-so. I've gone through a lot of it years ago and had no issues. I do reload the UMC .45 Auto cases and they are a little problematic, but I work around them. As far as 5 years old that shouldn't be an issue unless they were stored improperly.

Buffalo Bore 158 grain swchp +P - over 1,000 fps out of a 1-7/8" J frame.
This is the only 38 Spl. ammo I carry when I do carry a 38 (S&W 640) even though it's rated for 357 magnum.

Winchester .38 spl +P 125 gr hp chrony`d 935 fps out of my 3" Model 60 .38.
I like it. Accurate and pleasant to shoot.
Dont know about the Rem 125 +P`s. Never tried them.
Got the Winchester right at WM.

The bargain priced 125gr jhp +P in either WW or RP brand is a very good low priced carry rnd. They both chrono over 925fps and are a good value in older technology carry ammo at a reasonable price.

Good Round. I have shot a bunch of it. It does not seem to have as much flash suppression as dedicated defensive ammo. I would carry it.

The 100 round value pack is the cheapest 38 round in my local Wal-Mart . I use it for a target round. My 686 likes it. It may be old school but I wouldn’t want to be shot with it!

I like this round. I know nothing about "out-of-date" or "not modern" ammo. Looks like the same bullet from 1960s/70s R-P .38+P ammo production. Believe the round is designed for 4" or longer bbls. I've compared it, subjectively, to the 125gr W-W .38+P round also available at WW, and it feels substantially "hotter." It's a 'snappy' round. I have no problem firing or carrying it in a service revolver. YMMV.

The R-P and the W-W 125gr SJHP +P, bullet design is a great option..........
for those that think the 158gr +P FBI load is just a little too much for them.

Out of a J frame 2" barrel it has the minimum energy that I think
will do a good job as a SD load, over the all copper, lighter 110gr bullet,
in my mind, which is also used a lot.

I buy the UMC in the 100 round box when the price is right. I don't use it for carry often, as my EDC is 9mm, but I don't have any issue with it in my GP100s.

Speaking of old school, my Walmart had the Rem-UMC 357mag 125gn SJHP in the 100rd pack. I had to get a box to shoot in my 3” GP100, for old times sake.
