357 Golden Saber
I'm looking at switching to Remington Golden Sabers for a 357 Magnum J-frame since it's a milder loading. Does anyone have experience with these and the point of impact change for a fixed sight snub?

They may shoot a little high compared to other loading, but I can’t swear to it. They perform really well in almost every test I have seen and the are very mild. Think of them as being comparable to a hot 9mm. In my 357 guns they still recoil a fair amount.

I have the 38 +p in my 2 and 3 inch carry guns both .38 and .357 mag. Shoot great with not a great amount of recoil. Test by luckygunner showed the .38+p performed great out of short barrel revolvers. And they're cheap. I think last box I bought was around $22 for a box of 50

The GS is a discontinued label, so they will get cheaper, I would expect.
I've used them in .45 ACP, 357, and 38. They hit what I'm shooting at, are consistent and reliable. They were my service round, back in the dark ages.
I won't leave a box if there is a good price.

I picked up 1000 rounds of .357 Gold Saber at CDNN. An excellent deal. I think all that has happened is Remington is rebranding the round.
In my experience they shoot a bit low in fixed sight S&Ws. My carry magnum is a 2.5" GP100 with adjustable sights so I have it dialed in for the Gold Saber at 20 yards.

I've carried the .357 Golden Saber in my SP-101 for years, been very happy with it. Never shot less than 99% with that combo of gun and ammo during my yearly requal. I have also shot a bunch of .357 GS thru my 340 M&P, and it performs well. I like it so much that I've stockpiled enough to get me to retirement, plus a bunch more.
The .357 GS is the happy medium of .357 hollow point ammo. Relatively mild recoil, not too big of a fireball in low light, good velocity, excellent accuracy. I tried about a dozen factory .357 hollow point loads before picking the Golden Saber for work.

Alan, thanks for posting that. Jumped on it. That is my carry load in my 3” 65, smoking price on that ammo. Bill.

Is there any concern about the 125 grain GS being too hot and too light of a bullet for a K frame magnum? I haven't encountered too many cracked forcing cones in my adventures but I'm always leery of it happening to me and one of my firearms.

Excellent question! In the new K-frame with the two-piece barrel, I don't think there will be any problems with any ammo loaded to 357 Magnum pressures. With the older K-frames, bullets lighter than 140 grains loaded to full magnum ballistics accelerated wear on the forcing cone. The Remington 125 grain Golden Saber, however, is not a maximum load.
Standard factory 125 grain 357 Magnum loads are generally around 1450 fps from a 4 inch barrel. The Remington GS load is rated at 1220 fps, so it is a reduced pressure, reduced velocity load. Considering that 158 Magnum loads are listed as 1250 fps, I'd say the GS is not going to be any harder on the forcing cone than the 158 grain Magnum loads.
