Default .22Short BP

I need to buy, or swap for, one round of .22 short, black powder, loaded cartridge. I need it to complete a display stand, I made to hold a Allen & Wheelock side hammer revolver. This little revolver is very special to me, as I used it to train our two boys to handle and shoot their first "real" firearm. This little gun was always getting misplaced, so I decided to build a display stand for it. I've done that, such as it is, with the few skills that I still have at 87 years of age. Will anyone sell or swap me one, .22 Short, Black powder cartridge, to display with this little revolver in this display stand? I just might have something, to swap, in my "Stuff", that you might need. Thanks.

I have a variety of old, copper case 22 Shorts. Can't say for sure if they are black powder loaded or not as loose rounds but the copper cases were phased out as newer smokeless loads became standard. Do you belong to OGCA? I will be at my table (Z-7) at the next show. Send me a message, should be able to get you something suitable for display.

I agree with the above poster.
To rectify that I'll suggest an alternative.
That being your not quite done with the stand.
You need to modify it to fit this.
PM me the address and it will be sent.

Nevada Ed;
Having lost most of my skills, at 87 years old, due to, "Advanced Maturity", including my ability to "reason", I don't understand your question, "did I Polydent that weapon to the stand". I need for you, to explain your question. Thanks.

Default I'm "Stumped"

desi2358, Nevada Ed, Weatherby;
I would like to thank all of you, for your offers of help, but now to complicate the situation, the forum won't allow me to send private messages. Due to health problems, although still a member #48789 of OGCA, I've been unable to attend gun shows for a couple of years, as desi2358 suggests. I'm about ready, and probably should give up, and quit participating in this, great forum, as I'm sure it disrupts, and hinders this forum's, normal activities. The only other way to communicate with you kind folks is by E-Mail, and that leaves all concerned open for problems. Here is my E-Mail address, if interested, lowellsites@att.net. Thanks All.

Default Polydent?

Nevada Ed;
I've been thinking a lot, about your question about the"Polydent". I use Parodontax tooth paste, and therefore don't know the color of Polydent, but I'm guessing that it has to do with the color of it. You wouldn't have thought that the green felt that I used on my display stand was Polydent tooth paste, would you? Is my Mystery possibly solved?

I hope that you didn't use Elmer's glue to hold the felt in place. (Or any other adhesive that has a water base.)

Don't ask me how I know this is not good......

Default Glue

deadin;
No, dedin, i used adhesive, that has it's own, adhesive on the back, with peel of paper protector. I really don't know what kind of glue it is, but, I have used it on many display stands, and wood display cases, with no problems. Come on, and "confess", why using water based glue is not good. Let the ones of us, that don't know know, benefit from your mistake. Thanks.

Default Correct brand name?

Can any of the experts on our forum, give me the correct brand name, of this little antique revolver? I have listed it as a Allen & Wheelock, but I'v heard them called Ethan Allan - Side Hammer, Ethan Allan - Wheelock, and other names. I'd sure like to know the "correct" brand name.

Years ago I had made a wood insert that fit a 50 cal ammo can to hold my .45 and .22 target guns. I glued the felt in with Elmer's and within a week I had two badly rusted guns wherever they touched the felt.

Default Just getting back

Thanks "All" for the replies, and Information. I am just getting back on the S&W Forum, after 72 hours due to a computer crash, that took many many hours of work, done by our son, to completely configure my computer, and get it back on the internet. I wasn't able to properly thank folks on the forum, or acknowledge offers to obtain an antique .22 short, Black powder cartridge to be displayed with the Allen-Wheelock revolver, that I showed in the display stand, that I built for it. Well, I guess, that I'll just have to start all over again, with that request for a display cartridge. Our fellow member "weatherby", sent me an antique, period correct, cartridge box, for me to use in my display, and wouldn't even let me pay him for it, or to reimburse him for the postage. How's that for a true act of kind, generosity? Thanks again, Weatherby.
