Winchester PDX1 125 grn .357
I'm pretty new to revolvers, and very new to the 38-357 revolvers. Started reloading 38 special and was chronographing those today and figured I'd fire a few of the Winchester PDX1's I had with me across the chono, and here's what I got.
from a 2 5/8" model 627 PC 1047 fps avg
from a 4" model 28-2 1175 fps avg
That's quite a bit less than I was expecting (also quite a bit less recoil than I was expecting). Is this inline with what others have seen with this load?

Hi, welcome to the Forum. Don't know how to post links, but TNoutdoors9 on YouTube chrono'd this load at 1245 FPS from a 3" bbl'd Ruger GP100. Possible the load has been "diluted" over the intervening 6/7 years?

That seems to be the case with many manufacturers in just about every caliber. (Watered down from original)

Good grief! Is your chronograph working properly? A 125 at 1175 is NOT a .357 Magnum. Someone should be ashamed of themselves for calling it that, if they did so with a straight face. That’s 9mm performance!
That’s pathetic.

+1;
I can get my 3.5" C9 9mm pistol to shoot a 124 plated at 1173 with Unique...... blue dot at 1230.
A light 125 in a 686 6" does 1245fps with w231 powder,
and 1502 fps with 2400 powder.
However I do get great accuracy at just that 1245fps load.

This is why I enjoy chronographing various ammo, in variety of guns. Like Forest Gump said, "you never know what you're gonna get".
FWIW, in a bullet weight similar to the 125 .357 PDX, the chronographed velocity of Federal 9mm HST 124 +P in my 3" revolver averaged 1295 FPS. Go figure
