Yard Saleing today and found some ammo
Fellow had 10 boxes of Magtech 9mm 115 gr FMJs. Wanted 10 bucks a box and I got them for my offer of 7 each. Having never shot Magtech wondering if it is decent ammo. Even though I am not loading 9mm at this time is it worth saving the brass when I shoot it? I made a couple other deals with him. Killer deals on two Burris handgun scopes still in the box and got a box of 32 S&W L wadcutter ammo(Rem) for 12 bucks and some 32 S&W and 327 Federal brass once fired for a nickel a piece. At another garage sale I almost bought an as new Benelli SBE camo gun in the case for 750. Shotguns don't sell well here though...and I certainly don't need another shotgun. What say y'all about Magtech stuff??

I don't worry too much about dirty. I used to shoot lemon hunnerts at skeet so cleaning guns is not a big deal. Is the brass ok?

I've shot some Magtech 115 gr 9mm and my experience with it is that
like some other current production 9mm it's underloaded so much that
it wouldn't even cycle the action of some of my pistols. Plink with it but
don't depend on it for self defense.

I haven't shot any 9mm, but Magtech .357 works great for me.

I carry the 9mm very seldom(Kimber Micro 9) but when I do it has 147 gr Federal HPs. I know it loses velocity out of the short bbl but it still penetrates. I'm going to shoot some of this in my 1911 9mm. We'll see how it works in it. It usually shoots most anything.

Recently finished up a case of 1000 Magtech 124 grain 9 mm. No problems and very accurate in my SIG X-5. Have reloaded several hundred cases 3-4 times with good results.

I have limited Magtech experience, but no complaints. I often see comments here about this or that brand of ammo being "dirty." I have been a shooter for over 60 years and have never considered "dirty" ammunition as being a problem worthy of my concern. In fact I don't even know what that means. Maybe someone could explain to me why it's perceived to be a big deal. Unless maybe it refers to ammunition loaded with black powder.

I’ve got 3 cases of MAGTECH 38 Super. Stuff shoots great, accurate and reliable. Brass reloads just fine. You did good.

I buy and use a lot of Magtech, mainly because my ammo store usually has it on sale at prices better than anywhere else.
The 38 Special I use is their 38A (158 grain, LRN) and it is great for range duty and plinking, Model 10, 14. I use their 38B (158 grain, FMC-F (Flat Nose)) for gong ringing.
Magtech 158 grain SJ Soft Point in .357 Magnum is pretty good ammo to for my Mag use. Box says 1235 fps so a very comfortable round.
You did super good with your yard sale buy.

Not too impressed by Magtech but it does seem to work as range ammo. It should be ok for reloading because any brass case seems to work as long as it's a "standard" shape case. Note, my preferred case for reloading the 9mm is Remington so any time I see it on sale for 10 bucks a box or less I grab up 5 or 10 boxes. Note, I clean with stainless steel pins and Remington is the only brand I've found that doesn't require reaming the flash holes to prevent the pins from jamming. I will also note the 9mm is a VERY inexpensive round to reload, bullets are cheap due to the light weight and your don't use much powder.
Now, in regards to that Benelli, for 750 bucks IMO you should have snapped it up. As someone who recently took up shooting Trap, Sporting Clays, and Skeet I have to say that you can never have too many shotguns. Right now I have three 12's, a semi and two pumps, plus a 20 gage O/U and once I have my heart surgery done and healed up I plan on saving up for a new Beretta Silver Pigeon in 12 gage. Gotta say that busting those little round "birds" is a heck of a lot of fun and I really get a kick out of it when I hit once dead center in the pattern and make it disappear. Also like hitting a double but have to admit I have yet to get a double on a true pair in Skeet, compared to Sporting Clays the Skeet range is tiny and you really have to be fast to catch those true pairs in Skeet.

MAGTECH is loaded in and imported from Brazil and is the house brand of my local gun club. I've found it to be cheap and reliable even when used in a sub gun like an MP5. I've reloaded countless thousands of rounds
using their cases without a hitch.

I like their brass and have loaded their 9mm, 38/357 and 45 Auto brass. It's good stuff IMO.
Magtech is not a second rate ammo.

Well I called the fellow and offered him 650 for the Benelli. Going to go pick it up today for 675. I REALLY don't have a need for another shotgun. Even when I was guiding waterfowl hunters back in Md I didn't need one. Bought one and used it one season mainly cause I could write a gun off on taxes.Don't think I shot 5 boxes of 3 1/2 inch waterfowl loads through it. But I must admit it was one of the most reliable semi autos I ever shot...even with trap loads for late season doves and all the 2 3/4 inch an 3 inch waterfowl loads
Shot a few mags of the Magtech...and, as usual, the gun was more accurate shooting than the person holding the gun...At least I think it is. Shot fine didn't seem to be real dirty and it even shot ok out of the little Kimber Micro 9...it has the laser grips and it shot to point of aim or thereabouts. I also shot my Wilson Combat 45 and it of course is way more accurate than I can hold.
Wow my twenty fifth hundred post. Time flies when yer having fun

Now I'm shocked....
After the last yard sale thread I'm surprised you haven't been scolded because:
*You should've had a background check
*That ammo might be stolen
*How can you live with yourself buying unregistered ammo?
*In my state that's punishable by death
*That ammo might have been tampered with!
Anyway, great price. Shoot it and enjoy it.
