Default WWB 9mm 115grain

Decided to spend some Christmas cash on ammo. Since the place I normally ordered from was on break for a week, I decided to just go to Walmart and buy from their stock. They had plenty of Winchester White Box 115 in stock so I grabbed up 4 boxes of the 200 round packs.

I used to shoot this a lot when I first started shooting and only bought ammo at Walmart. Since then, I've read some bad reviews on WWB and was able to find other brands online. However, I never had any problems with this ammo.

So, for the past few weeks, I've been shooting the WWB 115. I've put 250 rounds of it through a Glock 19, Glock 43, Walther PPS M2, and an M&P9 2.0 along with some S&B 115 and Remington 115 HP's. Some of mags on the M&P had a mixture of WWB and S&B.

The WWB shoots just fine as far as I can tell with no failures. I can't even remember the poor reviews that led me to quit using it

It is a weapon thing.

Maybe BAD in their guns !!

Don't get sucked in, just because there is a negative statement on ammo.

I never paid any attention to those bad reviews, as I have for years shot thousands of rounds using WWB with no problems. Walmart's price on that stuff is too low to pass up.

Glad it works for you in your application.
That said, we see the problems first had in the gun shop. People buy a new gun then feed it WWB out of Walmart. Some guns like it. Some don't. When the gun doesn't digest it well, they come to us and blame the gun. Usually a box of decent quality ammo gets things back in order.
One of our wholesale distributors explained that WWB from wall mart is not the same quality (or part number) as WWB from a gun shop. It's because Walmart negotiates a lower price for buying huge volumes. ( Kind of like the big box stores do for appliances, tools, electronics etc.) I can't confirm it but can confirm that we've seen multiple WallMart WWB issues.

Too each their own but I'll give my ammo business to the little guy. He'll still be there (maybe) when Walmart decides that ammo sales are making the liberals of america too angry.

Wee Hooker, you could be right but I've bought WWB at both Walmart and BassPro and they both perform the same out of all my guns. I couldn't tell any difference between the two.

Back during the major ammo shortage some WWB was repackaged surplus ammo of mixed age and quality. Which probably led to some mixed reviews.

I have been shooting WWB without issue for over 20 years.
Some new pistols require a breakin period(stiff recoil springs). For any with #16+ lbs, I use a more potent ammo for 100 rounds then go back to WWB.

Be SAFE and Shoot often!

This is a timely post. I believe some guns hate WWB.

Yesterday, I brought my latest 3953 to the range. It ate up a box of Speer Lawman; then, I tried some WWB I still had in my range bag from a visit a couple months earlier with a different 3953 that hated the WWB ammo.

It was so bad I took it into a gunsmith who quickly pronounced the problem was the WWB. He ran a mag of Magtech through it without a problem.

I had changed out the recoil assembly with my carry gun (another 3953) and the new addition still had a problem digesting the WWB ammo.

The only difference between the three 3953 pistols is the second purchase (problem gun) is a late edition model with 3 levers while the first and third have two levers. Go figure...

It should be labeled as WWS, Winchester Weak Sauce. Many European guns set up for CIP pressure (i.e. proper pressure) ammo will choke on it.
