They are Federal .357 Magnum JHP.
If you have a scale, and another .357 Mag round of known weight you can determine if they are 180 gr., 158 gr. or 125 gr.

Bullet is a jacketed hollow-point design of the style provided by Sierra Bullets for years (actually I think Sierra called them "jacketed hollow cavity"). I suspect that Federal produced a lot or two of ammo featuring Sierra bullets. Lot of that going on in the 1980's or so.

Federal is a big fan of the short jacket design with a lot of exposed lead in both jacketed soft point (JSP) and JHP designs.

I'm fairly sure this is correct. The bullets do look exactly like Sierra JHC bullets they used to sell. I think I still have some in 125gr, 140gr, 150gr and 170gr.

I don't think this will work because the powder charge may be different and the case weight may be different between the two rounds. If you want to know the bullet weight accurately, you need to pull one and weigh it on a precise scale. (not hard to do)
