Price of 44 ammo.
I'm not trying to sell this here, just wondering what would be a fair asking price selling it on a local buy/sell/trade website. One box of 44 Special is missing 15 rounds.
Sold my newer 3" 629 Deluxe, just never been into N frames. Gave my 44 Bulldog to my dad.
I know if I keep seeing the ammo, I'll buy a 69 that I've kinda been wanting, but don't need except for having the ammo laying around.
Whatcha guys think?

Check out ammo- seek website for going rate of the 2 cartridges. If you sell at or a little below those prices you should be good to go. Most add she shipping but that would be a great selling point. I bought new 44 magnum target ammo at $24.99 a box of 50 very recently and at a show used for $15 a box of 50. No idea about 44 special.

Probably a quick sale at $120-150. If you tell potential buyers you no longer own a .44 they will try to bargain you down so don’t let them know!

I tried to give it to him. He said he hoped he never shot it, and would only keep the box of Gold Dot's I had in the bag.
I listed it for $150.

In my experience .44 Special ammunition is seldom seen in retail shops, those carrying .44 Special never seem to have any selection to speak of, and prices are considerably higher than the more commonly seen calibers.
Depending on market conditions in your area you may find it easy to sell these items, or you may find little demand. GunBroker provides a good venue with national exposure, thus many more possible buyers. There is always someone searching for just about anything you may have to offer. I have never had any difficulty selling ammo, components, or reloading stuff.
If you sell on-line you will need to comply with federal and state laws for delivery. Ammunition must generally be shipped by ground delivery services (FedEx, UPS, etc), thus sales to Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, etc, are a problem, and contents of the parcel must be disclosed (hazmat charges may be imposed by some shippers). Ammunition is heavy, so freight charges can be surprisingly high. International sales are a huge "NO-NO" due to laws pertaining to arms and ammunition. A few US states (such as California) have limitations on ammunition.
As a minimum, I would ask any out-of-state buyer to provide a signed statement that he/she is over 21 and not prohibited by law from receiving the items being purchased. A copy of government-issued ID (driver license, etc) is not an unreasonable request. This helps establish your good faith efforts to comply with all laws and regulations.
As a general rule, modern factory ammo of current or recent manufacture will usually bring about 50% to 75% of retail prices. Shipping expenses, and whether paid by buyer or seller, can have a big impact on sale prices, especially with small lots of ammo.

I thought about buying another Bulldog, but then I'd have no gun for the 44 mag's.
Those Bulldogs pack a lot of punch for being so light weight.
Wish I could find a store local to buy a 2.75" 69 for the same price that GrabAGun has. Worried about buying one online and it showing up with a canted barrel, or worst.

Buy the 69... or a 629 Mountain gun. The lighter barrel makes it feel like an L frame not an N frame.
