Default Checking if GECO 9mm has steel jacket

Was recently told that the currently imported plain White box with Black lettering GECO 9mm FMJ projectile was not magnetic and the Red & Black boxed GECO marked 9mm FMJ projectile WAS magnetic. Can anyone provide definite confirmation.
Need to purchase 2000 rds for a class later in the year and we will be shooting a bunch of steel. Owner/Instructor does not allow steel jacketed ammo as a result. Certainly don't want to order the ammo only to find out I cannot use it.

I recently bought a case of the 124 gr FMJ white box Geco ammo from
sgammo and the bullets are not magnetic. sg usually states in the ammo
listing whether the bullets are magnetic or not and the country of mfg.
Most Geco 9mm these days comes from Hungary.

SGAMMO has both red and white box.

The Geco red box is noted as non-magnetic on the website.

No mention of magnetic status on the white box.

You might call Sam Gabbert at SGAMMO and ask him directly.

Just curious, are you going to TDI?

Recently purchased Red Box 115 and White box 124's from SG and neither were magnetic. But best to follow rbmac's suggestion to call.

max,
yep, back to TDI in July for the PCC/Subgun class again. Will be the third time there. Took the PCC class last year and it was so much fun that 3 of us are taking it again. Learn a few things and have a great time with great students and staff.

I was there maybe 10 years ago for the 3 day pistol class. I burned through over 2k rounds if I remember correctly. I thought it was first class and am tempted to go back.

max,
I took Handgun 1,2 & 3 at TDI several years ago with a friend and his father, who had NO training at all. Even though I had 26+ years of LEO experience, I still picked up some very valuable training there. Their instructors are top shelf and instructor to student ratios were excellent. I went back last year with the same friend and one of his friends, (they both have taken almost every course offered at TDI), for the first time offering of the PCC/Subgun class. I have a FA HK MP5 that I don't get to use much, so this class was a natural fit. Turned out to be one of the most FUN training classes I've ever taken. Lots of shooting, we didn't bring enough ammo (1200rds). Moving/shooting, man against man competitions on steel, multiple runs thru 2 different live fire houses and an obstacle course. At our recommendation they have upped the recommended amount of ammo to 2000rds minimum. Great facility and top notch instructors. Most action shooting is on steel, thus the restriction against using any steel clad projectiles.

Some Geco 124 gr FMJ ammo has been made with plated steel bullets
and I still have some. So it's best to know before you buy what you are
getting.
