Default Any 32 H&R magnum gel tests

I have been hunting without success for ballistic gel tests for .32 H&R magnum.

I have found some bologna/denim/water jug tests and enjoyed reading about those results. But, would enjoy it even more if there were some tests in gel.

If you have found any that you could direct me to I say 'Thanks"

Here's one that Lucky Gunner did about a year ago. I found it quite interesting...

Thank you much!
I have not seen that one.

Very good and thorough Gel Test and history from Lucky Gunner.
I once had a 6-shot J-frame 432 in H&R.
It's successor the 327 Federal Magnum seems to be (finally!) gaining some deserved traction. With several revolver offerings from Ruger and Henry now with lever-actions, the extra cylinder capacity like SP-101 6 rounds or GP100 with 7 rounds and ballistics nearing 357 magnum is worthy of consideration. Vinny,
I agree that finally 327 is gaining ground. It seems that way judging from inter-net reading. Hopefully sales will continue. If Ruger had a 3 inch 327 Fed Mag in the LCR that would help sales....I think.

Yes and if S&W had anybody who was pushing for revolver development, the Model 631 would still be in production and they would be building the Model 616 which has been made in cottage industry outside of the factory.

Then again, "If wishes were horses, all beggars would ride; and if turnips were watches, I'd wear one by my side."

I honestly feel that .32 caliber bullets in handgun cartridges have been grossly underestimated.

While weaker examples such as the .32 ACP or .32 S&W Long may have been inadequate when combined with Jacketed Hollow Point bullets, they seem to have been adequately effective with FMJ considering how long they remained in service.

However, .327 Federal Magnum seems like a fantastic round which has been unfairly overlooked.

I think, for 32 s&w long, the best rounds for SD are wadcutters. And the best wadcutters are the 100 gr Buffalo bore loads. Likely the next best are wadcutters from Selier and Bellot.

I have a 431PD. Bought a box of B-Bore heavy 32 h&R mag outdoorsman hard cast Keith rounds...365 ft pounds...Yikes! to much power for that revolver!

My plan is to try 32 S&W Long, 32 H&R Mag and the 327 Federal.
The above mentioned Lucky Gunner gel tests seems to show the wadcutters doing pretty good.

Appreciate the comment on the Buffalo bore 32 H&R. I want to try it and see if all the shooters in my household can handle it.

Thank you all for the input.

The ideal combination for the 32 caliber revolver would be a 327 magnum ruger lcr and use the 32 H&R B-Bore heavy Keith wadcutters in it. More power than 9mm +p and 6 rounds. Can't beat that combo in any revolver IMHO

I agree.
Also, the factory LCR trigger is one of the best!

You might also look at the Charter Arms 32 H+R magnum professional model which has been out for a year or so. Very nice revolver and it is 7 shot! way less money than a ruger 327 magnum too. I have 4 charter revolver and i love them. Best bang for the buck there is. The model number is 63270 for the professional 32 magnum revolver

I have avoided Charter Arms for over a decade as the Off Duty I owned was pretty junky. I need to relook at this brand. Thank you.

Just for further discussion, Gun Blast has a S&W 431 review where they show Georgia Arms 32 H&R in a 100 gr JHP as being chronographed at 1002 fps and calculated at 270 ft. lbs.

Something tells me I'm into something good....... to quote Herman.

Sounds like a good round for the 327 federal mag sp-101.

I futilely looked for a J frame S&W .32 mag or .327 mag but the prices were way too high for me, so I ended up with the LCR .327. best trigger of all my J frame sized guns. I have only found Longs and fed mags locally.

Good find Dr.
I have been crawling around Lucky Gunner website for a few days now.
Seems I find something new and interesting everytime I go there.

"Discovered" that in the for sale section many of the ammo selections have gel tests when you select the link.

681... the LCR 327 is a great revolver. I ordered a Bantam grip made by Hogue to test it out as pocket carry. Got a Mika pocket holster coming this week. Placed my order on line in a hour or so Robert Mika called and I ended up ordering more of a combat cut that allows a little more grip to be exposed. That is a preference of mine compared to the fuller standard cut. Turn around is about a week!!! A few years ago it was way long.

Donít leave us hanging! What issue (month and year) had that article in it? Iíve gotten tired of wading through the ads to buy gold coins and cheap watches, so I just thumb quickly through my copies of AR... and Iím likely to miss an article or two unless I just get lucky.

681- While true that ammo is hard to find locally, I get all I want from sources like Midway USA on line. I just wait for their free shipping deals, that come monthly, and order all I need. Good luck!
