What the heck?
I’ve actually thought of using a FoodSaver vac system for long term storage before but check this out! I must be behind the times...

I'd be tempted if I could get a couple of cans of HST or Gold Dot.

Any idea of price? If you click on the "buy" button you get an empty page.

I use seal-a-meal. Already have one for food, why not ammo?

Sometime around the Great .22 LR Shortage, Federal came out with "FreshFire" packs. I've got some of it tucked away in my stash. The can's are nitrogen purged and there's no "best by..." date!
I've shot .22's from the 1940's and it worked just fine. Store your ammo in a cool, dry place and it'll probably out last you!

Nice gimmick. I'm sure there will be some preppers lining up to buy.
In a recent multiple-item purchase I ended up with several 10-round packs of 7.62 NATO M80 made in India and packaged in vacuum-sealed plastic pouches. I thought that was a pretty good idea for military use and potential long-term storage.
I know of a few guys who use "seal-a-meal" type vacuum sealers for their reloaded ammo. I have used Glad freezer bags for my own handgun loads for several years. I also have several USGI ammo cans with intact rubber seals, each capable of holding hundreds of rounds.
For the most part I shoot up what I load up within a year or two, so long-term storage is not much of an issue for me. I live in a semi-desert environment and keep my ammo stored where the temperatures don't vary widely, and never reach very high or very low levels, so I don't worry much about it.

Seems like a gimmick to me. Some oxygen absorbents in a 30 caliber ammo can will do the exact same thing.

^^This^^
My church has a cannery in Carrolton that used to do a retort operation.
I thought that it would be cute to can handgun and rifle ammo for long term storage.
Then I realized that GI 30/50 cal ammo cans gave me the same level of storage protection and they can be sealed/resealed at will.

IMHO this business of sealing ammo in air tight cans is basically a marketing ploy! Unless you live in a salt water environment such as on a boat, in the Amazon jungle where humidity is an extreme, etc. I see no reason this would be necessary. For the vast majority of us who don't live on submarines ammo can be stored in a cool dry place forever!
I routinely shoot ammo that is older than I am (66) that I inherited from my Dad when he passed. I am so confident in it that I actually have been Pheasant Hunting with it for the past 11 years and have had ZERO issues. BTW most of the Shot Shells I've used have been Paper Hulls!!
I've also been using up all the .38 Special ammo & .45 ammo he had and so far I have not had one single misfire (most of which was made in the 50's and 60's with some being made in the 70's). To make my point..... my Dad stored this ammo in his basement which was not air conditioned in the summer.
So as far as the hermetically sealed cans are concerned or sealing them in food saver plastic, etc. - unless you live in a severe climate or are forced to store your ammo in damp / wet conditions, I don't really see the need. Just my .02 cents......

If you live outdoors or in a tent and plan on doing so for many years, vacuum sealing or a similar method of moisture-tight sealing for ammo might be a good idea. If you live in a structure with hard walls and a good roof, such measures are far from necessary. I've used some pretty old ammo in the last fifty years that worked fine and some of it may not have had the best of storage since it was manufactured. None was vacuum sealed or stored in moisture proof containers.
