Default 9mm ПМ штабель

Hello comrades. I posted earlier a thread about comparing 9mm Pistol Makarov to the Springfield Hellcat. I was surprised to see so much love and support for the old Soviet warhorse. I certainly love mine and decided to make an ammunition stash for it:

Should be enough ammunition for a day at the range or a tactical situation. The Makarov is a good and reliable gun and the 9mm x 18 ПМ cartridge is potent for its size and produces a good effect against exposed enemy soldiers within 50m.

Just thought I would share,

-Jay

Very cool.

Where did you get that Russian font?

Cut and paste from somewhere? At first I thought it was my eyes.....then I realized what you did!

Nice ammo stash. I have three Makarovs - Russian commercial, East German, and Bulgarian - but not that many magazines. Well done.

nice grab and go box... I have had the same dilemma of which 9mm to go with... mine is between a FEG PA63 and a Kahr PM9... or Taurus G2... one is smaller, one has more capacity... still go with the PA63 most of the time, tried and true and I really do shoot it better than the other 2... skipping cans like it was a 22 rifle... nicely done

Not recommended (other than in a pinch), but once a friend and I went out with his 9x18 Mak and put a box of .380 ACP through it. We actually could keep most shots on the paper, and it functioned OK. I think that at one time, replacement Mak barrels chambered in .380 were available, but I haven't seen any.

There are .380 Mak barrels on eBay and the gun auction sites should anyone be interested.

It's funny that the OP was just saying a day or two ago, that the Makarov is ancient and outdated, and only an old fool would use one when so many other better, more modern designs are available.

Now suddenly...it's "potent", and effective to 50 meters. Seems someone can't make up their minds?

Never ONCE did I say an “old fool” would carry it. You are putting words in my mouth! I post a comparison with the Springer Hellcat and do carry the Hellcat over the Makarov, but the Mak is still a good gun and I never said it couldn’t be used!

I don't own a Makarov, but I do own a Walther PPK/S and hopefully I'll be picking up a Tokarev from the gunshop tomorrow.

My only knock on the Mak is that the ammo may be hard to find. Good gun shops generally have it but big box stores not as much. Can also be found at shows, but they have been cancelled for sometime. It's always a stock up item. Mill surp mags for $10 is great too.
