PalmettoStateArmory - are they legitimate?
I placed my first ever order with PalmettoStateArmory about a week ago.
The order has been listed as "Shipped" for about 4 days but in the Order Summary and even in the Order Detail, there is no tracking number.
I called them and the phone call rolled over into a recording that said to contact them via email.
Tried that....no response.
I Googled and saw some bad reviews. What should I do?

Haven't purchased anything from them online, but shopping in-person at their Greenville store has gotten worlds better in the last couple of years. Better store layout, product selection, and personell.

I have made several purchases from PSA and have always been pleased once I received the item. I imagine the USPS drops a trailer off at their dock and picks it up a few days later when the trailer is full.

They are legitimate. Can be slow shipping though. They won't scam you if that is your worry.
Panic buying season like this is they are probably backed up. Not an excuse for them mind you, but that is their m.o. I'd send the email and give them another week to 10 days.

I've placed numerous orders with them for accessories. As stated above, they are not the quickest at filling and shipping orders. However, they are legit and you will get your items. Almost everybody is running a little longer than normal right now.

They're legit, and generally very prompt in shipping. But during the pandemic, their shipping has slowed down along with just about everyone else's. I've bought in their stores and ordered online from them many times, never a complaint.

I bought a barreled upper from them last year, and couldn't be more pleased. Shipping was a little slow, though. Once I got my rifle assembled and out to the range, I understood why these are so popular. It's reasonably accurate (at least enough for what I bought it for), and it hasn't had a hiccup yet.

That would be great....if you got a tracking number. And slow shipping is understandable under the circumstances. My ONLY gripe is the order is marked shipped....with no tracking number.
Maybe PSA doesn't provide them? Every other gun shop I have dealt with does or did.
The order might well be on it's way, but usually you get a tracking No.

I bought a gun for my daughter. The shipping was slow, otherwise every thing was good.

They are good, just slow, frustrating for people who expect prompt transactions like myself.

I have spent the last 10 days tryng to get in touch with them. Phone, email, no response. A customer placed and order today, they told him I was not a listed dealer- 2 days ago I was on their list. I had sent my FFL & Tax info with out response. Today someone answered the phone, I received confirmation of them receiving FFL, no tracking number, but they are very busy. So give a day or three and you should have a delivery or tracking number. Be Safe,

I used to shop their main store location and use that range often when i lived there; never had an issue in person. Over the years though (when the country was in some form of panic buying) I have seen them fall behind and get criticized for delays and lack of communication. Just seems thats when they hit a wall and apparently have yet to figure out how best to handle these business hurdles.
If I needed something that only they had I would order from them. But I’d also assume if sales are high that delays and lack of access would be part of it.

Over the last few years I’ve dealt with them online and once in their Mt Pleasant, SC (branch) store. Nothing but good results ever. I’m sure things are crazy there right now, but I would be willing to bet your shipment is safely on the way, tracking # or not. Give it a couple more days before you get too worried.

Not everyone is fast as Amazon... Some hit the buy button and run to the door to watch for the big brown truck! PSA is a quality company and you will get your item. With all the crazy stuff going on, most dealers and distributors are slammed right now.

Covid 19 shutdown and riots = understaffed during massive demand for guns and accessories.
Response time may be slow.

I have never ordered there but I have several customers that did and still do. None of them did complain to me about PSA, the process or their quality.

I recently bought gunpowder on line from ... someone I can't remember right off (not PSA). They had a notice even before ordering that they were generating the paperwork right away, which would auto-send me a shipping notice, but that the physical process was several days behind.
They were right. It worked out fine.

I have purchased quite a bit from PSA. one of their AKs, several AR kits, ammo, etc.
All the products have been great, but shipping has sometimes been slow. I have not had occasion to contact their customer service dept., but I hear that it can sometimes be frustrating.
The thing that I really do like about PSA is the fact that they are doing their darndest to arm America with quality products at minimal cost. See if you can find the YT video of the owner talking about their philosophy.

I have spent thousands on various stuff from PSA online. Great company. The only negative I can say (and it's not a big deal to me at all) is that their shipping isn't always very fast. Some orders have taken over a week from time of purchase to ship. Other than that, I highly recommend them.

I no longer worry when I will receive something I have ordered. It has never arrived any faster because I fussed over it. Life is to short and I am getting older.

What Pef said! PSA is not Amazon much smaller operation. PSA is a good company. My only complaint is they are always out of the AR upper I want.

I have ordered from PSA, and I found the wait worth it. It was a few years back, but I remember the shipping was a bit slow, but worth. Managed to pick up an 18" spiral flute 223 heavy barrel for an upper project. Barrel shoots great, despite the fact that it was only $89 or so!

Hey im in the same boat; just bought an italian police turn in Beretta 92s on Sat. Still not shipped. No worries though as they have always done me right in due time. Hoping for a non-rusty/pitted Beretta.

Have ordered from them several times. Have always received merchandise as ordered and in a timely manner. Due to dramatic increase in firearm and ammo purchases I imagine they are pretty much pushed to the limit and there may be some delay in deliveries. But, they are legitimate and very customer oriented.

PSA is a good outfit but even in the best of times they have always been a little slow. Add the Covid, riots, cities being run amuck and they are probably slower still, cool your jets, you will get what you ordered, relax.

Wrong PSA. The one being discussed is Palmetto State Armory in South Carolina. That link goes to some company with offices in New Jersey.

Some companies create a shipping label when the customers order is received. They use it to track the order. Personally I find it to be confusing. I am not sure if PSA does this also.
I have purchased stuff (including ammo) from PSA many times without any complaints. Since you paid by credit card (you did pay by credit card right?) you can track the progress of your order by checking your credit card charges on line.
Be thankful you found ammunition. Many companies are out of stock.

PSA doesn't send you an e-mail when they ship, or ever provide a tracking number. The order will just show up at your door.
A bit strange when every other company we deal with is much better at communication.
But you'll get your order, no worries.
I ordered the package deal of 5 Shield 9mm mags and 250 rounds of Fiocchi ammo for $99. After 4 days I figured they still hadn't shipped the order but it showed up the next day.

My Customer placed his order on 6/16/20, I also sent them my FFL, tax info, they confirmed the order, but no ship date/tracking number. When I spoke to them they told me I was not on their list of dealers, Surprise it is on there. Hopefully I get some info soon. Be Safe,

With some companies, "shipped" means your goods are packaged and ready for pick up by the chosen shipper, not necessarily actually in transport.

They are legit from everything I read. I also experienced a very very slow total process time from order to firearm in hand. Just the times right now. There has never been more demand than this year.

they need to login to get tracking I believe, I think on firearm sales going to ffl they do not email tracking numbers, I have ordered a couple of items from them needing ffl transfer IIRC

I’ve placed countless orders with PSA and sometimes their shipping was a bit slow, and at other times it was surprisingly fast.
On occasion, I have even waited for a shipping notice for a few days and then, without warning, got a notice that delivery was imminent.
I’ve always been well satisfied in my dealings with the company.
ETA: few realize how huge a company PSA has grown into over the years.

Entities that have a fluctuating volume are sometimes like that. They have a trailer spotted in a dock door, and it is picked up when full. They count it as "shipped" when the box goes in the trailer, not when the trailer is picked up. I have seen places that have multiple trailers on the property, and they fill them up and replace them with another trailer but the carrier snags the trailer every (pick a time period).

Inconsistency - my experience is based on a half dozen orders over the last 7-8 years.
Accessories, anything other than firearms or uppers, seem to ship in adequate time. PSA is never fast, but usually within a week or two.
Rough on manufacturing QC, rough on basic customer service. I have ordered two uppers, one which was a Charlie Foxtrot. Generally I am tolerant of mistakes, but PSA’s quality control on manufacturing side is my main concern. Once they shipped me the same defective upper THREE times. They told me that was errors on three separate employees’ parts, which sort of underscores my opinion of the operation.
I wish them well as a business, but I only will buy things they stock, not that they build. There are numerous other vendors that cost abou the the same and seem to have less risk of unnecessary drama. YMMV.

I haven't used them, but patience is virtue . Some of my orders elsewhere were a bit slow. The lack of a tracking number would seem unusual in this day and age.

Placed an order with them online. All was well. Followed the tracking. UPS delivered it to a house I had not lived in for six years. Called them and they said they didn't have an answer. UPS said the delivered where they were supposed to. I went to my old house and it was vacant. There on the front porch was the order addressed to me. I felt like one of those porch robbers you see on tv as I headed back to my truck. Credit card should have bounced with the wrong address. Had never purchased from them before.
