High Five to Brownells
Hello Everybody. I just wanted to share my experience with Brownells. Did you know that for $50 a year you can become a Brownells "Edge" member with free 2 day shipping on everything? Also they dont charge sales tax for interstate shipping as Midway is now doing. I was a Midway fan boy for many years, but since they started charging sales tax, I started looking around and discovered Brownells. Now, Brownells is my primary source and I only go to Midway if Brownells is backordered or does not stock it. Try Brownells out! Become an "Edge" member, you will love it and save so much money.

Brownells has been my go-to for parts, tools, and cleaning/maintenance supplies for several years. However, I don't spend all that much there. An Edge membership likely wouldn't be very cost effective for me. At best, I might break even. But it's probably a good idea for people who spend enough to make a membership worth it.

I'm a big Brownells fan, but the $50 a year membership wouldn't really benefit me either.

High Five to Brownells
I joined because I’m someone who will be working on something and will need a few parts. Free shipping just saved me $5-10. I’ll get further along and need or want something else. Not expensive parts but still $5-10 shipping. Even in a year if I don’t do anything but break even, I’ve not lost any money but did get my parts quicker. As I’m impatient with certain projects, it’s worth it for me. Sometimes though, Midway is a good bit cheaper. But both have never done me wrong and have good customer service. I’ll pay a little bit more with a company if they have good service.
FYI: Target Sports USA has a similar program that for $40ish a year, you get discounts on all ammo and free shipping no matter how much you buy. One box of ammo to try out? Free shipping. That is one that is easy to get more than your money’s worth.

I like Brownells but end up ordering from Midway because
Brownells web sit is so hard for me to find anything I want.

Jim, yeah, for me too. I have a stack of their catalogs dating back to the '70's. Last time I went looking it was a no go, regardless. Last search was for S&W 639 magazines-- zilch- Used to be they had whatever you needed. Seems to be the way of the world these days. Too bad.
Heres another thing just who says the tax ANY of these outfits collect really go to the state?? Seems like another way to stick more money in their pockets if you ask me. Who REALLY knows what they do with it?? NO ONE!

Chalk myself up as preferring the Midway website. Brownell's website can be difficult to the point that I go to another vendor.
Brownell's has items you can't buy elsewhere, there is a Magna-Tip gunsmith screwdriver with a hollow handle containing all the bits you need for Smith & Wesson.
I am an Edge member at Brownell's I most likely won't recoup my $50 but I do like the two day shipping.

I know. You can type in a concise finite 4 word search that should return maybe 3 hits. You get 1,400+

Both businesses mentioned offer a HUGE selection BUT you pay for that selection in their pricing - IMO. If you absolutely can't find it anywhere else then OK but otherwise . . .
The $50 'membership' only makes sense if you're an active gunsmith - IMO.
