9mm thru a mp shield
I'm still stocking up on my stash of ammo in 9mm I've already about the steel casings which I already knew about shot a few with no problem but most of my stash is brass and I plan on keeping it that way. All I can find in bulk
is 147 grain but haven't shot alot through my gun my question is before I buy them Is it ok to consistent to shoot through it before I buy 1k loads appreciate any feed back.

I don't see why not, so long as it's good quality ammo.
Is there any particular concern you have?

Standard pressure 9x19 with 147 grain bullets should be fine. That's my preferred weight in my 9mm pistols. I found the +P loads to be a little more recoil than I like with my aluminum receiver pistols, I reserve that for steel receiver pistols.

I've never heard any of the guys on the M&P Subforum complaining about issues shooting 147gr loads through their various M&P9 Models (the Shield included) and it is a standard load which a lot of folks actually prefer to shoot over lighter loads, so I can think of no reason to expect it not to run in a M&P9 Shield.

No big thing that your standard ammo is 147 gr stuff.
You need to run 200-300 rounds through a new pistol to loosen it up and smooth out the action, slide and break in that new tight spring a little.
Any weight bullet will do and then you can reload the found cases with any weight or style of your choosing.
Ranges here will not allow pickup......
so I take a chair and card table and a BIG Cardboard box to catch the brass in to the "Boonies".
Bricks come in handy to hold my target and brass boxes down if the wind comes up.
Recycle crates are great for hauling stuff and sitting the target box on, if you have to go into the bushes.
Have fun.

And THAT is why I decided to create my own handgun range on my rural lot&subdivision. Neighbors didn't like that and tried to sic/invoke the local POA on me. Long story made short, I used the State Law & Texas Attorney General, and the local POA wet their pants, backed off, and even ended up finding out that my rural POA was a "voluntary" NOT a mandatory POA... Sometimes things actually work out in the end...
