When I go to the range it seems like the same people are there all the time. I wonder if we are the ones who stocked up?

I haven't been to my range since mid-Mar.; the ammo shortage has nothing to do with my shooting.... I just don't want to catch, or spread the Covid thingie.

I built up a reserve of ammo since 2013 so that I can keep shooting as much as I want. At the rate I shoot I have enough on hand to go more than five years before I run out, not counting all the reloading components for making more ammo.

Usually, I shoot and replenish. Now, I shoot and can't replenish...no primers, etc. So I'm considering changing what I shoot, switching back to more 22s and less CF. Got plenty of 22LR.

Ammo not a problem for me.
Range closure, new range rules, summer heat . . . have conspired to keep me from shooting.

Yep. I’ve only been out twice since then ... same reason.
Once at my indoor club in late April (new gun purchase from 6 weeks earlier hadn’t been shot yet) - I got there as soon as they opened, and within 15 minutes it was packed so I left.
Finally got extended time at the outdoor range on July 4. Just me and one other guy separated by about 40 feet of glorious open space.
Other than that, my ammo cans are still overflowing. I haven’t even bothered looking for ammo in the marketplace. I understand there’s currently a shortage, but it doesn’t bother me because my cartridge pile isn’t getting any smaller.
This too shall pass.

What are the gun laws like there?
Did not know average people were allowed to have them.

In Argentina we have a national registry of weapons that is a government agency, those of us who own weapons are registered in that registry and we have to declare all the weapons we have except those that were manufactured before 1870, those of muzzleloader and those of air. We have some prohibitions, we cannot have weapons that fire with automatic fire, shotguns with a barrel smaller than 16 ". For semi-automatic rifles that exceed the .22 LR caliber that have a detachable magazine (example M4 carbine), .50 caliber weapons (example S & W .500 or Desert Eagle caligre .50 AE) we have to ask for a special permit, but they don't give it to anyone, with the rest of the weapons as long as we comply with the regulations we have, no problem, I write this in large numbers traits not to be too boring.

I built up a pretty good stock of 9mm, 45 ACP, 22 LR, and 223/556 after the last ammo shortage we had in 2013-2014. But now I found myself wanting to hold on to it because I don't know how long this shortage is going to last.
I have such a large stock of .22 LR, that I decided to shoot it in lieu of 9mm and 45 ACP and 223. So my 10/22 and newly purchased M&P 22 Compact will be seeing a lot of action. I did shoot 50 rounds of 45 ACP last week tho in addition to the 250 rounds of 22 I shot.

I reload and have a good supply for what I shoot. The ranges are open but I shoot at home anyway so no change for me.

Being budget-challenged, I would pick up a box or three of ammo whenever I was near a store during normal times and built up a fair stash.
I like to run through 100-300 rd per session--deliberate shooting and drills, NOT just noisy mag dumps! NOW, though, when I go, I shoot tens of rounds per session, focusing on fundamentals and precision.
