Have received notification today that the projected shipping date for an order for factory Federal 9mm has been pushed back a fourth time, projected shipping date to me is now the end of September.

Working on the premise that manufacturers and importers had ammo in the system for delivery up until mid-April, is anyone here aware of any retailers having received ammo for sale since the beginning of May?

It has been said that the ammunition companies are still producing ammo (potentially at reduced capacity), where is it going? Has any newly manufactured ammo made it to the merchants' shelves in the past four months?

Not trying to trigger a panic, but it seems odd that we aren't seeing some ammo making it to the shelves or online retailers!

Thanks for your input!

No actual knowledge, but my guess would be that government contracts (LE, military, etc.) would get first priority. After that, there could be other contracts with distributors, vendors, etc., that may have fulfillment requirements that need to be met, based on contract terms. If your vendor keeps having their shipment dates pushed back, maybe they're not as high on the priority list?

Just a guess, though.

I have had one company contact me a time or 2 to tell me something I was looking for was now in stock. You have to be quick as it sells fast. I am waiting on some 9mm that is due to ship in September and some 5.56 that is in November.

Big retailers are getting it locally, small shops can’t get any.

My local Sportmans Warehouse has had 2 shipments of 9mm over the last two weeks. Aguila, Fiocchi, Blazer and Federal branded. Most of it has been Federal 115, but some 124.

It all usually sells in 2 days.

I was at MidSouth this morning. They said they had 5k rounds of 9mm show up this morning. I believe it was gone in 20 minutes.

I went to Sportsmen's Warehouse today and they had some tracer type ammo on the shelf and that was about it for pistol. Plenty of .22, and it looks like they just stocked their shelves with rifle ammo. I didn't check .553, but all the hunting calibers were aplenty.

Freedom Munitions had some 9mm in stock last night at over 60cents/round, haven't looked today.

Just checked Extreme's website, looks like there taking orders again, they do have there red banner stating that it is not loaded ammunition.

That is the same question I've had. Nobody's got any, nobody's selling any, nobody's buying any. Where the hell is it?

It's all being quarantined due to Covid 19 doncha know???

Academy is getting ammo in all the time. They open at nine and it's all gone by ten. Be there when the doors first open for seven days in a row and you Will get ammo. If you snooze, you lose. I got (5) 500 round value packs of 9mm WWB that way, and that was at .20 cents per round, 2500 rounds. I went from almost not having any to being very well supplied.

Dunhams stores near me were getting ammo shipmemts until a month or 2 ago. They told me now its completely sporadic and unpredictable as to if/when they get it.

It's deja vu all over again Yogi! But the last time is was "Be there when they open 5 days a week and you'll get some 22s."

Ahhh, were it not for having this pesky job of mine............

Oh wait! I've got a reloader, and brass, and bullets, and primers, and powder,,........... but,..... there's that pesky job, interfering in my life again......

One of the perks of being retired. I highly recommend it. Do it as soon as you can. Yogi recommends it.

I've seen 9mm in Bass Pro Shop. No specifics because I wasn't looking for 9mm, but there were several brands.

I'm stocked well with 9mm .38/.357 and just about finished with .22LR . Received my 800 rds from Target Sports in three days still waiting on SG and Buds ordered the 14th. Found Federal Auto Match sitting back bottom shelf at LGS along with 500 rds Fioochi:)

Do you have a prime membership at Target Sports? I'm wondering because I don't and I'm not sure if they offer new inventory to prime members first. When I go on their site, nothing is in stock.

Was the September date of 2020 or 2021? If 2020, did you get it? Most of the dealers here get small amounts of ammo in small dribbles from their distributor.
