Default 00 buck

I got 2 cases of 12 ga 00 buck shot yesterday at a reasonable price 1 case Federal, one case Remington.
Both are 2 3/4 and still sealed. I really don't need that much and would like opinions on what would be a acceptable price per 5rd box if I were to put them in the want to sell section here.

They are available at our local sporting goods store for 4.99-5.99 per 5 round box.

That's about what I saw also, Remington about 5.00 a box, but the federals are the law enforcement tactical and seem to run a bit more.

You can’t ship ammo through the Post Office, you’ll need to ship common carrier ground with an ORM-D label. UPS is your best bet, but you can’t do it from a “Brown Box Store”. You’ll need to take them to an actual UPS facility. You best investigate shipping cost.

If I was trying to sell those on the forum, I’d probably set at least a 10 box minimum. It wouldn’t be worth all the trips to the UPS hub and the associated shipping costs to sell them in smaller quantities.

I know shipping is a issue mainly due to the weight. I might check into having packages picked up at my location by UPS.
The 10 box minimum is a good idea. I haven't decide on how I want to do this yet but the prices will be less the normal retail
simply because it cost me less.

Price will have to be low enough that shipping cost doesn’t bring total to more than they could be bought locally. I don’t know if 10 box minimum would overcome this. I recently sold two boxes of 25 Rem to guy in Pittsburg. About 75 miles from were I had to UPS them in Wheeling, WVa.
Ship cost was almost $30. Unless 00 gets impossible to buy, local sales make more sense.

You might want to keep it, at least for the next couple months.

That has crossed my mind, I actually got almost 5 full cases and figured to keep some for myself. I've already sold a full case locally but it was S&B and isn't as costly as the other types.

Two weeks ago as we were going to the city my son ask us to pick him up some 12G- 2 3/4- 00 buck. Went to a couple LGS and they were completely out of both buck and slugs. Knew trying a big box was just a waste of gas!

Went to 2 other LGS and I scored some 00 buck at both places. I bought 2 five round boxes (store limit) at both. Prices were in the $8 to $9 range.

Yesterday my wife told me a LGS had some #4 buck, reduced recoil stuff for sale at about $9. They had a five box limit she said.

I have about 30 boxes of 12g slugs, 10 20g , 2 16g and 5 410s. Since Ohio went rifle deer I thought I would never shoot another lousy slug. Plenty of hi brass shot shells. I figure a load of #4s will slow the bad guys down enough to put a pumpkin ball in their pelt.

Went into my local Bass Pro today looking for 30-06 ammo. Still nothing, but they did have a few 1000 round bricks of 22, about 20 boxes of Hornady 12 gauge slugs and I snagged 4 boxes of #4 buckshot. First buck of any variety I've seen in months.

I wouldn't be in a rush to sell. Not with all the uncertainties. Shipping cost is a killer, so F-to-F is the best way to go if you must sell.

Since all this nonsense started I've had numerous family members , friends & neighbors asking me for all kinds of gun related items , especially ammo & SPP . I always get the Fed Tactical with Flite Control Wad . Much less spread & no donut paterns . Anyway I'd let some get away & started looking for another case or 2 . Took a while but did find it & price wasn't bad considering .

My like minded friends are pretty well stocked on ammo as I'm I.
Before I even got this 00 I had at least 2 cases in storage for personal use.
I just happened to be at a auction not to long ago were a gun shop had went out of business, I bought all the 00 they had and a bunch of other ammo and reloading supplies.

If I had it I'd sit on it, although I prefer #4 buck.

I'm with the "keep it" crowd. That would be like selling off spare rolls of TP.
Besides, ammo may soon become a form of currency...hope not

I just paid $4.99 a box for the Federal “00” tactical last week at the police supply store. They were out of slugs. As others have pointed out, it might be a good idea to hang on to what you have for the short term.

Still have a couple boxes of #4 buck for the 12g and 3" #3 for the 20, I'm good.
