wow that's a lot of stuff! No one knows how much I have or what I paid for it
I bet you still paid a lot for all that, but 20-30% below market price is a great deal on ammo! I love the vintage 38 special, 44, and 357 boxes. Nothing wrong with vintage ammo if it still shoots IMO.

LGS gifted me a few boxes of old ammo, 9mm, .32 ACP, .25 ACP and .22 short
Then I bought this typically Swiss curiosity, a can of GP11 “Taschenmunition”, or pocket ammunition. As you may know, the Swiss militia soldiers kept their rifles at home, and were therefore given a sealed can of 24 rounds, to be only used in case of mobilisation and in order to reach a meeting point.
Precisely this reads :
Guidelines for pocket ammunition
This pocket ammunition is intended exclusively for personal protection during active duty, especially before reaching the designated duty station.
The pocket ammunition is to be presented at each service and during communal inspections.
Anyone who opens the box improperly or misuses the ammunition will be punished in accordance with the order concerning ammunition.

I didn't start out to be a Ammo Hoarder (AH) either ... or a Hoarder of Reloading Supplies (RSH) primers , powders and brass , Wheel- Weight Hoarder (WWH) and Bullet Moulds Hoarder (BMH) ....
But circumstances beyond my control have forced me to commit these various Acts of Hoarding !!!
I didn't want to ... but , the Devil made me do it !

All the Evansville Chrysler .45 ammo that I've seen has been in steel cases. Head stamps were EC43 and EC4.

To the OP - Nice collection of ammo. Things being how they are here, I doubt that many American shooters with large volumes of ammo would, or will publicly proclaim what they have stashed or produce public pictures. A bird just landed on my window sill and whispered to me that there might be situations here where yours would be considered a "starter collection".

Some people are just down right lucky or at the right place at the right time.
Those pictures and prices paid for the ammo, just want me to lay down and cry.
You did very well, kind sir.
Enjoy that .30 cent ammo........
and mostly the 38 & 357 that is now , around $1 for the good stuff.

Impressive, Classic12! Impressive collection but also a great collection of ammo from a historical point of view. Most of it should shoot just fine if it looks OK.

There used to be at least one or two dealers in obsolete ammo at our local gun shows. Would sell as small as 1 round or 20 rounds of obsolete ammo for our cartridge collections. In some cases you could buy a whole box (50 rounds) which old ammo usually came packed it. Since I usually attended both shows I would run into at least one of them. Last few shows neither had been in attendance. Which was a shame really. Usually had a pretty good selection of old ammo. My favorite selection was various loadings of the old straight walled cartridges such as 32-40, 38-55, 45-70 and the like. Frank

Impressive....Congrats.....!!
Your second-hand ammo stash is fantastic, and it's all in really great shape.
Mine isn't in that great of shape, it's more on the side of "used", but I just started on the journey...
Hope to figure out how to re-shape the pointy things that go out the barrel, but first I need to come up with a few more components.... the search will be fun...
On a semi serious note, I'm very envious that you are able to find good stuff, our ammo market(s) were slammed by Covid and the new generation of shooters, I guess that's a good thing (the new shooter part). Ammo is starting to show up more these days, but our/my ability to buy older stuff is pretty much in a gun-show setting, and most of the sellers seem to think that lead is more valuable than actual precious metals these days...
Thanks for sharing...

Picked up a mix of ammo from a guy who sold his guns, .22 lr, 9mm, .38 spl, .40 S&W, .45 ACP, .223. I paid $ 360 for the lot, 1450 rds of .22 and 860 rds of other calibers.
And a lot of 7.62X39 from another guy. His rifle didn’t like the steel case. My Norincos will swallow anything.
920 rounds of Barnaul
And 440 rounds of Bishkek, milsurp from the Kirghiz republic. $ 500 for 1360 rounds in total

Well the old Stgw 57 magazine capacity was 24 rounds. And similarly to the US, Switzerland went from 7.5 Swiss (7.62 in the US) to 5.56 NATO, lighter round, you can carry more.

Something like a minor panic over here regarding the Swiss GP-11. Supplies have just about dreied up and since many shooters do not reload. So you are probably sitting on a small fortune of GP-11. Frank
