Ammo for the 30mm Avenger
As long as I'm on the Ammo section I thought I would throw this in for fun. The A-10 mounted Avenger fires 30mm API, HE and depleted uranium rounds at 3900 RPM. The GAU-8 was designed by GE. The same people who brought us the 7.62 Mini-Gun. As we used to say, "better living through electricity". There is plenty of information about these rounds on the net, velocity, accuracy, lethality, etc. so I won't bore you with details. It's a killer.

The one in the lower part of the picture is a dummy. Not sure of the top one. It has something different in the primer hole. I'll have to ask my son, the Hog pilot.
