I don't pretend to know the true final demand, but I know for sure people are putting orders in that are duplicated at many suppliers. Eventually, many orders will be cancelled once actual demand is filled.

Can't load ammo without primers. Of all the manufacturers of ammo in the US, there are only 4 companies making primers. That will always be the bottleneck. And they won't sell just primers these days, because they are more valuable to make loaded ammo with. It will be quite a while before they get caught up. I'm guessing late in 2022.

I remember 2008 being about the same - there were no primers on the shelves for a long time.

I do not recall the reselling of primers for the outrageous amounts they are today however.
