Ammo Box Age?
These three boxes came into my possession recently.
The Remingtons have styrofoam inserts, so I don’t imagine they are too old. The price of the red Federal box is the same as one of the Remingtons—$3.89–so I assume they were bought at the same time.
Any info as to the age of these boxes?
Do they have any special value, or should I just shoot them?

Look at the address for the company. Does it have a zip code? If so it is newer than 1963 - if not it's older.
FWIW, I have some Remington Kleenbore boxes with no zip code in the address and they have the Styrofoam inserts.

The Remingtons have no Zip Code, but the Federal does.

I had a buddy give me 2 boxes of 9mm ball Ammo from WW2 timeframe. Fired just fine. Can’t speak to what you have but I am sure guys will come along with good recommendations.

In my opinion, they have no collector value. I would just shoot them and enjoy them.

A little research led to a PDF from CartridgeCollectors.org.
1964-1973 Vintage.
Cartridges are all in great shape and look safe to shoot.
Of course, at a cost of $.08/rnd then (although free to me), the current unobtainable price is about $.50/rnd. Might be better to sell them at market value and put $75 in my pocket. I have plenty of other newer .38’s.

If you have plenty, I believe I'd likely just keep them. I'd try to store them as well as the previous owner apparently did.

I bought some boxes of this Remington ammo last year in 38 and 44 special. I’ve shot some and found it very clean and accurate with a very moderate recoil

I've ended up with 500 rounds of old military 45 ball ammo. I believe it was issued in 1943. I came out of the Evansville Ordnance plant. The head stamp is E 3, 43 3 and is steel case ammo. I imagine, from what I've read on different forums it's safe to shoot, but don't know if it's reloadable. I've got thousands of 45 cases so probably wouldn't reload them anyway, just curious if anyone has ever reloaded steel cases?
