9mm ammo
If you just have to have 9mm Ammo Rogers Sporting Goods has it about $15 a box of 50 cheaper than most places. Their range ammo is 35-37 bucks a box instead high forties and low fifties like the majority.
I know that a lot will say i will not pay that but you probably have ammo. This is written for those that don't. I bought a case when it was much cheaper and was pleased with the transaction.

My closest gun store just got in a pallet full of Browning brass FMJ 9mm. $17.99 per box, limit 5 boxes. They just set the whole pallet in an aisle, and it was gone in a day. I bought my limit, even though I don't shoot much 9.
$15 is a steal in today's market. I fear it's going to get worse.

I think he said “$15 per box cheaper than most”. Still cost $35 per box.

9mm ammo
$30 was the price in the Midwest a few months ago. I think the last ad I seen where it was available, it was $50/box.

Yeah you guys aren't kidding. Just back from my local gun haunt. $50 for a box of that S&B 9MM. Better already have a gun to shoot them out of. Handguns were as scarce as hens teeth. Only 3-4 revolvers with long barrels in stock. Was there 4 weeks back and a few used long guns were available but all gone. Even a couple of beat up Mosins had been snatched up. Am afraid it could get worse myself.

Missed that. You're right. My $17.99 was the steal then.

I bought a half case of 9mm ball ammo that Midway USA had on sale a few weeks ago. It was 30¢ a round, $29.99 per 50 round box, not bad these days. Unfortunately, the no shipping code didn't work for ammo!

I have been fortunate to be able to go into cabelas and bass pro and have picked up 9mm for $15 for 50 and most importantly I was able to get pick up some 38s for $22 a box. Then I traded with a fellow member and bought some 357 also was able to det 22 for $30 a box of 525.

The local big box stores in the Midwest seem to be getting and selling common ammo for prices close to the pre-panic retail price, at least as of last week and this week. From my receipts:
Cabela's (limit 5 boxes total):
$23.99/box of 50 Browning 380 Auto, 95 gr, FMJ
$39.99/box of 100 Winchester 40 SW, 165 gr, (Win Pack)
Dunham's (limit 3 boxes per caliber):
$ 14.99/box of 50 Federal 9 mm, 115 gr, FMJ
$ 24.99/box of 50 Federal 380 Auto, 95 gr, FMJ
$ 5.99/box of 50 Aguila .22 LR, 40 gr HV solid pt, Copper
Dunham's also had Aguila 9mm bulk boxes, 300/$99, but those went first.
You can call either store at 9 am and they will tell you if they got a shipment overnight, and will be putting it on the shelves. Cabela's sells out in about 30~45 minutes. Dunham's in a couple hours.
I am not saying these are exactly the same prices as before, but it is not $1/round either. The only ammo I have not seen at either store for a long time is .38 spl and .357. The other caliber not available at retail locally is .45 ACP.

Thankfully I still have several thousand rounds of 9mm that I stocked up on when WalMartian-Mart was selling it for $8.97 a box. I only use a box or two whenever I add a new pistol to my horde so it's going to take a long time to deplete my stash.

The small campus department that I used to be Director of for many years recently switched from .40 Glocks to 9mm Glocks. (I transitioned it from S&W Model 19s to the Glocks in the early 1990s.)
I stopped by one day in December to have a cup of coffee and they just got back from range qualification. They had to borrow 9mm from the local PD to qualify as they didn't have any on hand. Their supplier said the earliest they could get any would be around April.

One of my privately owned LGS in Eden Prairie, MN two weeks ago got in 10,000 rounds of brass cased 9mm and put a two box limit, priced it at $21/bx and it was all gone in four hours.
I just left another LGS in that same area Minneapolis suburbs and they had well over 100 boxes of 380 at $25/bx with the same two box limit. That may make it through the day.
