Default Received A Case Of 5.56 Today

I ordered it September 25 and got it today. I have another case on order and it is not suppose to ship until April. I ordered it prior to September. I am glad it wasn't an emergency. I got it for the price when I ordered it.

Yeah, buy a case of ammo and get a matching gun for free, just pay separate S&H.

Default Good for you!

All of the cases of ammunition that I have been ordering at really good prices over the past few years are safely stashed away, ready for use. All things considered it is a pretty good feeling.

I got over not being the first two a long time ago!

But I always need more ammunition - I'll never get over THAT!

Rudyard Kipling's quote comes to mind.

'A man can never have too much red wine,
too many books, or too much ammunition'

Or as my Gunner's mate buddies used to say,
'There's ammo and no ammo. There's never
too much ammo'

Having exactly zero rounds of 5.56 or, 9mm and no plans to acquire either, I never paid attention to prices of either.

Now, I'm just curious as to the average cost of 5.56 NATO surplus before the current craziness, say in 2019 or 2018.

Ballpark is fine. Thanks!

$0.28 per round, more or less.

I agree and made it a priority to have 10x more primers than I ever dreamed I would need. Primers are always an easy trade for bullets and powder.
I still keep a few boxes of factory ammo around because some training facilities do not allow handloads.

When I paid $450 for a 1000 rounds of 9mm Blazer Brass I thought that I was a little nuts. I was nutty to not have bought three cases. I don't think we will ever see it much lower if even that low. I am concerned with the regulations that can adversely affect both the ammo and gun manufactures and in turn us.

The Furry Freak Brothers said someting very similar about another 'necessity' back in the 60's, but the setiment holds true enough for both.

The cases stacked in the basement are worth more than any amount of $$$ I could get for them.

I can't say that I was able to get 1,000 rounds of anything today but I did trade a guy something I didn't need for 100 rounds of Tula 5.56 ammo that I "might" need some day.

After carefully thinking about it, there are only two occasions I can think of when one might have too much ammo. Those are when one is swimming or on fire, besides that...more is always better!

I'm good to go on ammo for the foreseeable future.

Just figured out that I have 2000 rounds of. 44 Magnum reloads from my late brother.

I think I'll start using them up and save the other stuff.

Or too many batteries. A flashlight is defined as “a cylinder of metal or plastic used to store dead batteries.”

Yup. I've got ammo, and I can shoot - but now I wish I had bought more.

I have seen some 7.62x39 around. Was at my LGS today, they had more ammo than I've seen there in a while, but most was only to go with new gun sales. They even had some 5 Seven, with the gun, didn't ask.
