Question ammoshoponline.com

Hello. Gunbroker sent me an ad that ammoshoponline.com had ammo for sale at reasonably good prices. I almost ordered but then i noticed the caveat that gunbroker had inserted that they were not responsible for any activities or policies of the advertiser in reference to sale of delivery of merchandise or some such. Thus forewarned, I checked the record of this company (as I should do with every new company I do business with , I guess) and they had quite a few complaints, so I did not proceed to checkout with my cart. Has anyone had any problems with this company? The prices were pretty good and I was/am sorely tempted to buy but I would first like to know the experiences of others with respect to this site. (The prices are pretty good if you want to try it.)

Add an additional $5 for “handling” plus the shipping cost.

Default I've posted before...but never named them

In my opinion, this supplier is over-priced, even in current times.
My son bought some 9mm from them a while ago (before today's really high prices).

Took the money almost immediately, no communication after order. Tracking number (when finally provided) showed "shipping exception" & "delivery delay" by Fed-Ex Ground.

Finally arrived and was water logged, cheap lightweight cardboard box pretty much destroyed, ammo boxes well "used" in appearance, rounds all over the package, son had to hand dry everything then repack. Only plus side is that so far the ammo has been good and reliable.

Many people other than my son alone have complained (check the reviews by googling....not their website).

If you really HAVE TO HAVE IT....go ahead and buy, just be aware that price can and does escalate with adders, and since no signature required...you might just find loose rounds all over your porch or wherever IF...you receive it.

I heard they are around .85 to 1.00 per round these days..I don't know for sure but I guess it is what it is IF you are totally out.

Sounds like your beef is with FedEx, not the retailer. You
think the vendor gave a sodden, torn up box to FedEx,
to start it's journey to you?

I finished buying ammo last month. Had no problem with Ammoshop online .Packaging was heavy box with 50 rd boxes wrapped in bubble wrap . Noticed the 9mm on sale couple weeks ago but added handling and FedEX fees.

Is 4 grains of CFE Pistol in a semi 380 with a Hornady 90 gr XTP bullet a good load?

One source I use for retailer ratings is Ammoseek.

If they're not rated at least 4 stars, I avoid them completely, and if "only" 4 stars, I read the reviews to get a picture of why. Ammoseek also rates them on shipping cost.

AmmoShopOnline is rated 3 stars with the highest$ shipping cost rating. Avoid.

Outdoor Limited is rated 4 stars with a low-to-free shipping cost rating.

Ammo Shop Online gives good service but very high shipping and handling costs. Plus sales tax for most states outside of Georgia. The company appears to be a wholly owned subsidiary of RUAG, a very large European ammo and arms conglomerate. Someone convinced them that shipping and handling was a good way of increasing profits.
Where else can you find Swiss and Swedish made high quality ammo in the USA right now? The Swiss .308 looks like jewelry compared to most ammo made here.
