I recently picked up 4 boxes of WWB "clean" 9mm ammo. When I opened the boxes, I found them all to be Speer headstamped, with what appear to be gold dot bullets! They don't appear to be reloads. Now I'm more than a little confused. Any ideas?

Were the boxes sealed? Sounds like someone swapped the ammo, why I have no idea.

Don't worry - I'll trade you some "genuine" white box for the gold dots...

someone may have made a switcheroo, planning on buying the WWB and getting better ammo and you beat them to the good stuff. Of course, whoever buys the Gold Dots and finds WWB ammo in it will be pi**ed.

Used to be an old scam used at video rental stores. Swap the tape and reels from the movie you wanted to keep, and return the tape of Aunt Frannie's 75th birthday party? Or swapping out price stickers in a store on packaging, pre-bar coding. Somebody IS gonna' be pissed about those FMJ's @ $45-$50 a box!

I picked them up at the local gun show. The guy was asking 11.00 a box, and let me have them for 10.00 ea. The only thing I'm kinda sorry about is there were still 2 boxes left on his table when I left. The switch thing didn't occur to me until after I got home, but he had the boxes open (no seals) and was talking about the "clean and green hollowpoints".

40-50$ a box?? Dang, I need to get out ammo shopping more often
