It's in Lonoke Arkansas which is an eastern suburb of Little Rock. Also near Little Rock AFB. Remington moved their ammo production from Bridgeport CT to Lonoke about 50 years ago.

It's right on I-40, can easily see the shot tower from the interstate. I lived in the area from 1990-96.

Have roared past that Rem plant many a time smoking down I 40.
I generally like Rem Ammo, not crazy about their low end 22.
Just yesterday paid a ridiculous price for a box of Rem 380.

Let's just hope that with the new ownership there is also a new set of QC standards. Now that Russian ammo is history, Remington's added production capability will be dearly appreciated (if their quality is good).

Saw some brand new Remington ammo at the State Skeet Shoot for Michigan a couple of weeks back. even purchased 4 boxes of 410 STS for the 410 event. It shot well and am setting aside the hulls to use for reloading ammo for Registered shoots going forward. Already have the 4 boxes loaded and will be using them in a mini shoot on Labor Day. Just wish my club could get the Remington ammo to stock up with. Because Remington STS 410 hulls allow many more reloads than Winchester AA HS hulls.

If their quality is good. There is nothing worse than a Remington Thunderbolt 22, for leading a barrel.

I wan in CT in the late 80's when they closed the plant, and let generations of workers go, closed the Lordship plant, let down the gun clubs and sportsmen. Long story.

Since that time, I personally have not bought a Remington product. Old stuff yes,

I hope they get back up and running well. It will take the pressure off the other companies so their ammo will become more available

Yep I read it. Good news for the ammo. Now if Remington/Roundhill could start producing some decent 870s and 700s. Recent video I caught did not exactly inspire confidence. looked like left over Express parts and the wood to metal fit was awful. Guess that ugly matte rough finish is back so far. Gimme the old Wingmasters from years back.

It's one of the worst accuracy rounds I've ever shot as well. We used to call them Dunderbolts. The consistency of the ammo was terrible. You could hear differences in the sound of a lot of the rounds due to what I assume was variances in the powder amount.

I compared about twenty-five mid-to low-priced .22 LR ammos several years ago using two good-quality bolt-action non-target rifles. With Thunderbolt, an average of five, five-shot groups at 50 yards from a benchrested position yielded .86" from one rifle and .94" from the other. Not spectacular performance, granted, but seven or eight ammos were worse.

People still buy this stuff, so there must be a pretty good market for it. I think it makes more sense to spend a little more and get better ammo, but then there wouldn't be much to complain about.

Had very good luck accuracy wise with their 40 grain 22 magnum H.P. ammo in the past. Rated it at 1910 F.P.S. from rifle barrels.

We always called them Thunderduds. Lots of problems with leading.

But Remington's centerfire ammo always worked well for me.
