What Is The Going Rate For 45 ACP Wadcutter Reloads?
I'm trying out a model of 1950 Target 45 ACP and picked up a box of 185 grain semi-wadcutter reloads and they were only $19.00. I was surprised the were that cheap. Is this the going rate? It's going to be a relatively cheap gun to shoot.
Thanks.

I haven't bought factory .45s for more than 10 years, but I am pretty confident that anything under $20 per box of 50 is very cheap. My recollection is that .45s were around $25 per 50 in the early 2000s. If I didn't reload, and the 185s performed reasonably, I would stock up,

It costs me $26.00/100 to reload at today’s prices. I’d say you did well.

Sounds like a great price these days as long as they are done correctly.

I tried them and they went bang, and clang on the metal plates everytime so thats all I need. I will see what they have for a supply, and if they can still get them. Sold my Dillon a few years ago before I got back into Smith's.
Of course I got to buy the Model of 1950 before I really need the ammo!

so you don't have to pay shipping !!

Are they from a commercial reloader? If yes you should buy more, that is a very fair price. Save the brass, it's worth some money on it's own.

Well, they only had four boxes left and just hadn't jacked up the prices. At $19 a box I figured I had to buy it and a Model of 1950 Target to shoot it out of as well.

That would be my major concern. If some guy is cranking them out in his basement and pushing them at gun shows I would be suspect. I would want to see an 06 FFL (Commercial ammo manufacturer). They exist so not saying you have a problem.
