Begin RELOADING! I load .38s for $4.00 for a box of 50. My costs have not really gone up, except for primers, which are tough to find for a decent price since it seems everyone is hoarding them. I wouldn't pay $69.00 a box of .380 if it was the last box on earth!

.380 is a relatively inexpensive cartridge to reload too. The powder charges are small and the bullets have far less metal in them than a big 250something grain .45 caliber slug. A pound of powder will load well over a thousand rounds depending on the data used.

I saw six boxes of Win 380ACP at a Walmart near here two days ago. They were 100 rd-boxes and sold for about 34 $/box. A couple that arrived after I did bought it all. I continue to see 380ACP here at various Walmarts. If you want 380ACP, you can find it here if you have the time to check out the various Walmarts here. There are four within 10 miles of my home, and I can usually find something at one of them at any time.

Thanks everyone for your input. I would buy some 380 if it was at a decent price. 69.00 is way over the top!
I used to reload years ago, but I really don't shoot much. I have a few boxes of 380, don't fire it very often, So I am not too desperate!
RG...Thanks for the tip on Wal Mart. Unfortunately I live in the "Gun Friendly" San Francisco area. I did check a couple years ago with the local Wal Mart for ammo. The clerk PROUDLY stated they don't carry ammo or firearms. As Inspector Callahan would say "My how Stylish"!

Sorry, don't get the meaning of that. Those of us who buy guns and ammo are pigs? Kind of an interesting 12th post on a gun forum.

I've seen the "cheaper than dirt" catalogues and it's never seemed to be anything other than a mail order outfit selling el cheapo pawn shop junk.

Years ago, I quit messing with CTD. Their shipping charges were outrageous, and on nearly every order there was at least one item backordered -- for which they always charged yet another outrageous shipping fee when it came in.

It actually sold....that is very sad.
I am begining to believe that as long as the current leadership is in charge, not much will change as far as ammo prices go.
I will be shooting my Browning Buckmark and Single Six more and more. Save the other ammo. Then again I don't shoot much anyway. Very happy I have the ammo I do.
I have already wrote off Cheaper then Dirt.

cant account for idiots.
At the same time Ammo to go had boxes of Aguila
JHP's for $15.99.
I think they still have them.
If someone allows a business to rip them off,
what can you do.

Double Tap still lists .380 as available through their web site. Not sure how much it is backordered, if at all, in terms of delay. 35 or so per box of 50, but you're getting hot, premium JHPs.
I may have a source for some .380 circa next week.

I've never considered myself a hoader, just couldn't pass up good deals over the years. I've got about 1200 rounds of .380 I've picked up on "good deals" over the years, and I wonder how I'm going to shoot even half of it thru my Sig 230 during the rest of my life. Email's in profile if you're really stuck.

Yep.
And this my friends is why everything is going thru' the roof.
If people would stop the panic and refuse to pay jacked up prices, they will be force back to normal.

The ONLY thing I've bought from CTD was 20 Suomi 36rd stick magazines for my S&W 76 9mm subgun. They were about $9-something apiece and unused. I've bought NOTHING else from them and don't intend to in future.

380 ammo is priced way beyond anything approaching reason. Makes me glad I bought 3 cases of American Eagle + PMC when it was $9.99 a box.

It is listed as $21.38 a box/50 on their site. Naturally as with virtually all pistol ammo, it is sold out. --c
