WOW!!
Was at an LGS today. A neighbor is looking for .44Mag ammo. There was one box. I called him, told him it was $54.97 for 50rds. He said he'd pass. Glad I don't have one.

I wonder why he passed? Before the shortage the 45 Colt was around $50/box so I'm guessing the 44 Magnum ammo was a similar price. I don't have one so I really don't know what the prices were.

This hasn't been a *particularly* high price for a few years ISTR.

Glad I cast my own bullets and reload for both.

If the ammo is a SP variety from a well known brand - that price is a steal these days. Even from PPU it would be a good deal.
I saw a box of Black Hills 32 H&R mag soft points for $66 at a store about two weeks ago.

His choice. Pay the price or do with out. If he wants something cheap to shoot he needs a BB pistol. Larry

Big Five near here has .44 Mag ammo for $60 a box.
I've been reloading the .44 Magnum since 1979. It was the cartridge I cut my reloading teeth on, and I have mountains of components to keep me shooting. I don't know how new shooters afford to shoot much these days.

Wow, sold all my 44 Mags due to nerve issues. Gave a good friend a bunch of cases, bullets, need to remind him, lol.

I've been getting my 45 Colt ammo from a guy at the gunshows regularly. It's HSM 255gr FMJ. He has it marked at 25 per box of 50 but since I usually buy all he has for sat and sun shows I get it for 22 a box. Got enough 45LC on hand now to outfit all the indians AND cavalry at the little big horn for about 6 months.
