Unfortunately, with all the incidents of porch piracy going on, this has become a necessary precaution. Those miscreants would love to get their hands on boxes of ammo to peddle to the local gang-bangers.

Still does not change the fact that most of us work all day. When I buy on line I always place in the extra instructions box, "No signature required for delivery." If they are not willing to do that I have always been notified and canceled the order. Most places I buy ammo from do not require an adult signature. Purchased some .44 Spec last week from Outdoor Limited and no signature required.

I work and there are too many porch pirates where I live to let it sit on the porch all afternoon. Assuming UPS actually puts it on my porch instead of dropping it off in front of my garage.
I always have it shipped signature required and after UPS makes the first delivery attempt have it redirected to a UPS store where I pick it up. There are a couple within a few miles of my house including one that is on my way home from work. Adds a couple of days and some hassle but beats having expensive ammo stolen. Fedex will let you redirect a package before the first delivery attempt is made but I am not sure if they will ship ammo, it always seems to come UPS.
If you live in a safer area and there are not nearby UPS stores I understand your frustration about the signature being required. The sites I buy from have a box you have to check for signature required and make it clear if someone steals it off you porch you are responsible. Letting customers decide if the risk of getting ammo stolen is worth the convenience of having it dropped off without a signature seems like the best way to handle theft. Until the past few years I chose to save a few dollars and skip the trip to the UPS store. But porch piracy has skyrocketed since the pandemic and it is not an option anymore.

Can you get a big steel box bolted to your front porch and ask them to put the package in and close and lock the door?

Well, at 30 to 32 cents a round for 9mm remanufactured ammo, it isn’t much of a deal.

Thank you for the info on Wis Cartridge. Have never purchased from them but its nice to have a couple back ups for purchase and places to price. I have been using Natchez now and then. Not always particularly for price but they seem to have brand I am looking for.

I have my ammo shipped to my office. We are in an annex at the SO, and the only real problem I have had is that sometimes someone will think it is for the SO, not me. I know not a lot of folks can have anything, let alone ammo, shipped to their office.
