I found a bit of ammo today that I had never seen before. Now before I load the stuff up in my nighstand gun and speed loaders does it have any value or collectability over regular ammo. I would hate to shoot something rare and sought after.
I bought them mostly because it's so hard to find 158 grain HPs and that is my prefered setup for HD from a M14-4, and they were pretty darn cheap too. I was down to 6 rounds of HD ammo with tons of 148 grain WCs as backup. I dont want to shoot them but I will if I have to.
It's been quite a while sice I've seen S&W ammunition. I mostly remember the ols Nyclad ammunition they produced back in the late 70's. I'm not into collecting old ammunition, so I don't know for sure, but I would guess this box might bring a slight premium. If it were my property, I would put it on the shelf and forget about it for a while. I'm pretty sure it will bring a premium further down the road. Better yet, keep it and start your own collection.
I have a box of 50 S&W nyclads in 9mm, 124 grain IIRC. I picked it up recently at a local store. someone had brought it in with a gun they put on consignment, or it came in with an estate, I forget which. I think I paid $10 for it.
