I'ts results of Barrel Length, popular

I'm still looking at charts I
haven't gotten to the Magnums yet,
unfortunate they didn't also do 10 MM
AUto & .41 Magnum.

Hey, some OCD behavior results in
useful info.

Really interesting find!!

The results help to answer a question that seems to come up regularly in about every forum I visit and always gets some "rule of thumb" answer.

I only looked at two calibers of interest -- 357Sig and 40 S&W -- and was just a little bit disappointed at the ammo choices. Lots of Corbon and some Federal, but little or no data on, argueably, the most popular ammos out there -- Speer Gold Dot and Win Ranger. I suppose that they just ammo on hand, and it is still better than WAGs.

I to was disappointed in the ammo that they selected, however this is far better info than anything else I have seen.

9mmx19 Cor Bon JHP & DPX Fed Speer GD

Now, for a slow burning Magnum powder in
.357 Mag Cor Bon JHP & DPX Fed JHP
BBL Len 110 gr 125 gr 140 gr 125 gr 158 gr
----------------------------------------------
16" 1790 2113 2004 1946 1739
8" 1600 1851 1717 1728 1593
5" 1377 1614 1493 1552 1402
4" 1286 1406 1394 1471 1332
3: 1109 1257 1172 1271 1194

With 3" Bbl. 9mmx19 isn't far off 125 gr. eh?
but with the fast burjning powders really
no need for more than 8" Bbl.
