Hello and a Happy New Year to all.
I have a new S&W 41 on the way, and have spent a lot of time reading posts about which ammo is best for this specific gun. Some posts say to avoid using high-velocity bullets as they will shorten the life of the gun; other posts say it makes no difference. Can the experts here give me advice on what is what for the 41? I'd greatly appreciate hearing specific ammo brands/types that will be best for my newest gun acquisition.

I'm hardly an 'expert', but I would also recommend CCI standard velocity.
One comment, though - I have found CCI standard velocity in orange or yellow plastic packages (of 100 rds?) to work extremely well in my model 41, however the CCI standard velocity rounds packed in blue cardboard boxes (50 rds?) often give me misfires. I have seen others reporting the same problem, however I have not seen any explanation for the difference (perhaps it's due to a different country of origin?)...

Last year I shot 1 case (5000 rounds) of new CCI standard velocity (blue box), with only a small handful of malfunctions, probably less than 5.
I'm 2 bricks into my 2nd case of CCI SV, no malfunctions yet.

Maybe it's nature's way of telling me that I should try out the set of replacement springs that I bought three years ago and tossed into a drawer...
