Happened to be in Dick's sporting goods checking out prices on ammo and saw tucked away with wwb 9mm 115gr.jhp some 147 gr. jhp same price.Based on some reviews on this site, I picked up the box. $19.99 for 50. When I got them home and loaded some 5906 and 6906 mags with them I found it difficult to load #10 and#12 in their respective mags. I have always,ten years or so, used 115 gr. 9mm in these mags and was wondering if the rounds are just larger or am I imagining this? Thanks in advance for your help.

OK, quite true and very astute of you to make that observation[big smile], but would that account for the relative ease with which I was able to load the 115 jhps' of the same brand?

Serous answer, check the length for clearance at the nose in the magazine. The 147 is fatter further forward and is often a press fit on the ogive.

Frankly, I stick to 124gr which seem to work in anything.

Literally, a curved surface. On a bullet, it is the curved part from the straight sides to the point. The 115 and 124 gr 9mm bullets taper more quickly than the 147.

It'll be case by case dependent if it does. It doesn't in mine (M&P9c) but that doesn't assure you of anything except that it'll work in mine?

I noticed they seemed just a little longer also. In my 92FS it seemed like they would catch just a little when I chambered the first round, but seemed to seat itself properly. They shot just fine with no problems.

Well g'town and others, thanks for all the help. I just got back from the S& W shooting sports center, what a Zoo by the way, They had a carry course in the a.m but this was a different crowd including about eight Special Forces guys in uniform camo who came in to escape any detail their commanding officer would have thought up if he saw them lounging around. this was a stark contrast to the big Golf emporium sales event that I went to in the morning. No one there.Definitely recession time. But I digress. I brought my 9mm recon[6906] in and loaded the full mag with the 147 grain then 3 rounds of 115 gr. fmj in the alternate mag, 50 rounds or so later the groupings were indistinguishable 7yds idpa target two to the body one to the head, down zero.Took the 6906 first because that has been the more finicky of my two current pistols. Will try the 5906 with the same drill later on. I was very pleased with the heavier bullet perfomance.

Took the 5906 idpa in this afternon, fed the 147grain ammo in alternare two to the body one to the head at 7yds. no problems and couldn't really tell which load I was shooting without looking.The 147 may be a keeper load. Any trade offs in a 3 1/2 inch barrel? Would alighter load do better in the four inch barrel? Thoughts?

I find in the 9mm the 147 grain slug is very accurate, do I think to thr longer bearind area of the slug itself. I got a deal on some plated barrys bullets in 147 grain and the shoot great out of all my 9mm pistols.

As Erich, Wyatt and Moses have said, I found the 147's very accurate. But then, there hasn't been a load between 115 and 147 the little fart doesn't seem to like?
