Went to WallyMart today and stocked up on another 300 rounds WWB .38 SPL and 300 rounds of WWB .40 S&W to beat any Jan 01 price increase or political hanky panky. Gonna hit a local gun show 01/02/09 to see about a few final pick ups before 01/21/09 rolls around.

I just happened past my Wal-Mart's sporting goods area today (not to buy anything there - I'm doing all right on that sort of thing), and was astonished at how bare the ammo shelves were. Sounds like you're not the only one stocking up, amigo.

A few months ago, when Russia invaded Georgia, within days every Wal-Mart in Alabama was sold out of ammunition. The locals said the Russians might get away with taking Georgia, but it wasn't going to happen in Alabama.

(Gotta love James McMurtry, tmbrcruizer - I've been listening to him since the '80s.)

I went to Walmart and Sportsman's Warehouse today to get a box of 45 ACP ball and none was to be found.
McMurtry's "Levelland" is a great song.

OT: I've got a friend from Levelland (actually 38/44HD45 is from right near there, too) and he says it sums it up pretty good.

Speaking of 38/44HD45 Erich.
Is he in the witness protection program or something? I sure miss reading his posts!

We have two Rural Kings in my town. Both lately have been stocked to the gills with hunting rifle calibers and shot gun shells. But one store only had .25 auto and the other some Blazer .40 in 165grs. I asked a clerk if they were getting away from pistol ammo and he said no, they can't get it right now. Horders really tee me off. I couldn't even buy the 500 rounds of .45 that I wanted!

ROFL, this is only funny to someone on the south. This reminds me of one of my favorite jokes, but I won't get started.

Cheers,
Sam

Well, apparently it's not just me afterall! I recently got back into reloading and then faced with the lack of normal supply chains! I figured I was being a "jinx" to a very enjoyable hobby.

OK guys and girls, there's reality that you have to face. Banks aren't lending money!

You ever heard that before? jp
