Walmart Ammo price rollbacks.
I was in Walmart today and noticed they had all their hunting gear out,.... got my blood pump'in! They also had price roll backs on a lot of their shotgun shells to pretty much where they were before Obama came to town. For some reason though, I doubt if we will ever see those dirt cheap rifle/pistol ammo prices of a couple of years ago. Remember the Blazer 9m/m at Academy Sports, everyday price $ 3.86/box?

Was in Walmart 2 days ago and the ammo shelves were stocked with 38 Sp., 9mm, .40 S&W, .45 acp, .44 Magnum and a few others. Can't speak to prices but ammo on the shelves is a first in quite a while.
Fall is no doubt coming. A grocery store here had school supplies and halloween candy displayed 2 weeks ago.

I see plenty of rifle, a bit of shotgun, and no pistol. I expect the rifle to start drying up with the season right around the corner.

that is the only thing i dont like from walmart. they had plenty of .40 the other day. and still have some but they only let you have 6 boxes. i wanted to get 10 but i just came back the next day and got 6 more. now i got 600 rounds so what ever i can live with it i guess. at least they are getting it in now so i can buy it. besides i have everything to load my own now. so if they run out i have enough supply's to load about 3000 plus rounds

Just went to Wally world today and bought a couple 100rd Winchester value packs of 9mm. They also had federal 50rd 9mm as well. They still had .40, .38, and some .45.

Slightly off track, but what should a Value Pack 100 rd “White Box” of .45acp, 230gr, FMJ sell for at WW or other low cost place?
I was in Gander Mountain yesterday, they had quite a lot of pistol ammunition of all calibers on the shelf. I thought their prices were way high, they wanted $60 for the .45acp value pack. Reloading components, except for Red Dot were essentially zero. They did have some .22lr, not the more popular stuff though.
Past few months they have had zip in pistol or .22lr on the shelf.

Still no ammo at my local WMs. Fortunately, a very good friend of mine who bought 2,000 rounds of GA 9mm back in 1999-2000 no longer shoots 9mm. I am in the process of getting it from him.

It's been so long since seeing any 9X19 or .45ACP W W/B in a Wally store store in the Seattle area that I don't know what would now be being charged? I do know, that I glommed some (2) 100 val packs of W W/B in .45ACP at a local sporting good outlet about 3 weeks ago. Price was $53.00 per. And I heard a certain part of my anatomy slam shut at the prospect, too! It was my BIL birthday present, for the Kimber CDP Ultra I gave him 5 years ago.
FWIW: I'm on the AMMOMAN.com E mailing list which sends notices in real time on availability. And even the E mail notices are fewer and further between. I sure am glad I reload!

Hang in there. Wal-mart had the WinUSA 9x19 100 packs for $19.88 last time I was there, and the Federal Wal-Mart-specific 115-gr 50-rnd-box stuff for $8.97.

My Mao Mart has had plenty of Federal 9mm lately for 8.99 a box. Also Remington bulk packs of 22 and 40 and 45. I am glad to see it.

Our wal-mart had very little ammo, I did get two 550 round Federal 22LR for $16.00 each, limit 2 boxes per caliber. Academy had plenty of all calibers.

Up here in northeast Oklahoma, our friendly, neighborhood Wally World still has an ammo shortage. They have got their hunting gear out. I've seen muzzle loading and archery supplies, but .22,9, 45, etc. is still catch as catch can.
There is no shortage of 12 or 20 shot shells.

The WalMarts by me don't carry any ammo BUT DICKS's have recently been fully stocked. Their prices are as low as Wal-Mart but pricey ammo is better than no ammo.

gr8,
Like you in the S/E, we in the PacNW haven't seen any val-pak 9X19 and .45ACP on this side of the mountains in so long, I can't even recall what was being charged for it? The last W W/B .45ACP I could find buy as a present for my BIL went for $65.00 per 100 IIRC? And that was at a "discount" sporting goods store!

That's what the price was here until 2 weeks ago & then they raised it $5 to $34.97. Just when they were finally getting some in.

China Marts (3) in Augusta don't have much pistol ammo, adequate shotgun shells, and golden rifle ammo. Lowe's has Christmas trees and decorations reasonably priced compared to China Mart ammo.

The only handgun ammo I've seen in the last two weeks in the Las Vegas WalMarts is .25 auto.
I am getting so concerned that I actually did a search on GunBroker for .25 pistols...
I was at my gunsmiths' yesterday and he had a 550 rd value pack of Federal .22s for $30.00. I resisted making a comment on his pricing, and did not make a purchase.

That is funny!
I saw a nice, used "high end" .380 ACP pistol at a good price that I was tempted to buy. Then, I saw that Winchester White Box .380 ACP was going for a minimum of $20.00/box because of the "LCP enduced shortage" which made me realize that I really do not need a .380 ACP.
The .380 ACP craze is so bad around here that most dealers will not sell .380 ACP ammunition unless you buy a .380 ACP chambered gun from them. Kind of funny to see guns sitting on top of boxes of ammunition and priced as a package.

I have not seen any 38 special in our Wally world store in 6 months. I have seen some 9mm and I bought 10 100 round boxes. They will only sell you 3 at a time when it does come in and thats not very often.

I noticed a slight increase at my local WW also
They are still cheaper than most. I have been finding 45 and 9mm on sunday mornings and have wrangled several hundred rounds of 45 in the past month. A few hundred 38 for the father in law. I have been passing on the 9 and 40. Shooting a lot of 22's as of late. But still having fun with them.

I get a kick out of all the people who hate Walmart for whatever reasons but still shop there. Seems kind of hypocritical.
Me, I hate McDonald's because of their politics and have not stepped foot in one for over 10 years and I couldn't even tell you what a Big Mac costs these days.

I picked up 3 boxes of Winchester 333 and 3 boxes of Federal champion 9mm Fri. afternoon at WalMart. They had a case of the 333 box. First time in a while. There is shelf for the 555 box but they have not turn up yet. The 333 boxes were $9.47 per box and the Fed. champ 9mm was $9.97 per box. Both WalMart and Academy Sports in the San Antonio Tx area have been pretty steady with ammo lately. Less stalking and more like shopping for ammo again.

I just returned from Wal-Mart. Found a DVD of Eastwood's Fist Full of Dollars and For A Few Dollars More... a phone charger (Thank God!) and... (drum roll... cannons firing... cheer leaders jumping up and down shouting "Yeh!!!") I found 100 rd. boxes of Winchester 230 gr. FMJ and one box of Winchester 230 gr. JHP. I bought enough of the FMJ to keep my 625 shooting for at least the next few weeks. Bought the JHP simply because I it has been many moons since I saw any for less than $46/50 rds. I noticed that they had .38 Special in the 100 rd. boxes (130 gr. FMJ) and plenty of the .40 S&W in 165 gr. and 180 gr. FMJ. Unfortunately, there was no .22 LR to be found beyond 6 100 rd. boxes of CCI Mini-Mags. Tonight when I get home I am definitely going to be watching a spaghetti western! And since tomorrow is my off day, I will most certainly be doing a little shooting. Sincerely. brucev.

Our local Walmart had ammo the other day. A whole case of WWB 44mag, a whole case of WWB 380, and a whole case of 40s&w. They had a few kinda of .223 and several boxes of 7.63x39, these have been hit and miss for a while.
I scored two of the hundred round boxes of 380...
I have been at Walmart when they have opened the deliveries in the past, often its one box of this and one box of that. I havent seen a case of anything in a long time.

Just got in from WW stopped to check on a thermos. Much to my surprise they had 13 boxes of CCI Mini Mags. and several of the 333 winchester bulk boxes. I have been wanting the mini mags for a while so I maxed out on them 6 boxes. (twice)
I know I'm adding to the problem but who knows when they will have them again. Maybe tomorrow maybe this time next year.

OK.
I know I'm being a PITA on this (I'm used to it though, it looms large in my legend.)
"WHERE" are some of our member shoppers speaking about? Regional and spot shortages and availabilities are quite common. What we're trying to ascertain are "regional trends"? I know most of our members may be nervous about putting a locale on their handle. But trust me folks, if you've got an IP and are a member ANYWHERE, they already "know" where to find you! That is, if signing up for an SSI number or selective service registration at a post office 20 to 50 years ago, didn't already accomplish it?

I would like to gently but firmly second Mr. SpottedDog's remarks re: "where".
Saying "around here we have huge stockpiles of ammo at our glorious WW" has no meaning if you don't give any hint as to where "here" is, and do not show a location in your profile.

Yep, the "around here" with no way of knowing where "around here" is statements are quite common. I guess they know where they are but we don't.
Anyway, the ammo situation around here seems to be getting a lot better. I bought six, 50 round boxes (their limit) of Federal 9mm at my local W. M in Little Elm, Tx (a North Dallas suburb). The price was $9.97 + tax per box which is up $1.00 a box from a month or so ago. They had quite a few boxes of 9mm but only two boxes of 40 caliber left.
I am pretty well stocked up on 9mm and 22 caliber now so I'll be working on 40 caliber, 45 caliber, 38+P, 30-30, and 357 magnum.
Never shoot the 380's anymore, got a few full mags, so who cares since they are primarily BUGs anyway?
