New - $250 with the current $50 rebate

Best gun for the money I've ever owned and S&W's service is stellar.

I couldn't ask for a better truck gun.

Wanna talk about triggers? Go ahead....ask me. :)

I really want another too, but can't find a local FFL who is willing to do the transfer. 4 hour round trip to a place that won't rip me off. :(

I bought my 2nd sigma after I sold the first. The trigger on the new one is night and day different from the first. It is smooth and the pull is fine also. I bought the first about 2 years ago and they seem like altogether different guns. Go figure this I think my M&P9c is too easy without a safety. I wish it was like this new sigma but I am old and don't know much.

I bought one (9mm) for my girlfriend for her birthday and we've shot it once. I loved it and thought it shot great. On the other hand she could barely cock the gun, pull the trigger or hold it steady enough for it to sucessfully recoil. Hopefully, after a few thousand rounds her hands will strengthen or the gun will break itself in to make it easier for her. I've been pondering why some people hate the triggers and some say it's a bit heavy but "ok". It clicked when I compared hand size to my girlfriends, my pinky is the size of her largest finger. Then I imagined trying to squeeze the trigger with my pinky and thought, damn, that might be a little difficult. She likes the gun, but would prefer somthing a little more female friendly. I'm going to buy another black 9mm sigma after the holiday to have small family of sigmas. Can't wait for the range tonight!

"I wish it was like this new sigma but I am old and don't know much."

Oh, I ain't falling for that trick, grandad! :D

Bought my first Sigma about three years ago. It was a 40S&W. Started wanting one in 9mm and finally picked one up last spring. People can say what they want but the Sigma is a really nice weapon.

Nothing wrong w/ a Sigma at all,I have a 9VE and lovin it. All those kool-aid drinkin Glockees can just back off!

About the trigger? nothin wrong with the trigger unless your a weakling and can't open ketchup bottle!

Got back from the range last night, shot 100 rounds. My girlfriend shot signifigantly better, no jams. She's a former Clinton era Marine so she's a good shot. The instructor for the Concealed Carry Class was beside us shooting his brand new Kimber .45. He gave us a few shooting tips and even let us shoot his gun to feel the difference in the trigger. He shot the sigma and said the trigger is bad. However, he managed to place the shot in the very center of the target, to the milimeter! Overall it was a very nice night, only a few people shooting so the noise wasn't overbearing. Today I'm purchasing a year pass to the range since I can get one at half price, 60.00. After shooting about fifty rounds, I was able to correct my low and to the left shot placing the shot in a three inch grouping. After shooting the Kimber I've realized I will one day want to upgrade to a 1911 .45, however for the time being, the sigma stands as my weapon of choice!

I bought my Sigma in .40 as a whim. A throw it in the glove compartment and forget it gun.
After a trip to S&W for a trigger failure it came back to me as a real nice shooter.
As far as the Grandpa's go I can relate when my arthritis is acting up in my wrists with the snap of the .40. To make things worse I had a detached retina in my right eye. Being a right hand shooter I sight with my left eye. Somewhat of a challenge for me, but I know if I have to use it for other than shooting paper targets I have all the confidence it will get the job done and with no pain.

I agree, I think the Sigma is one of the most underated semi autos on the market. I have a 9ve hi capacity and I love it.

I agree. I have never had a problem with this trigger pull, and I do not think that I would want it less...

I sure want to know too. I have a guy who does FFL transfers for $20. That would make for a cheap $300 out the door pistol for me, even shipped.

I'm not Doc, obviously . . . but what Doc said is: "New - $250 with the current $50 rebate"

Several dealers have them for $299 (less rebate is $249 SHIPPED)

Check this one: S&W SW9VE 9mm Stainless for Sale at Buds Gun Shop $299.00

I think that is a pretty good deal. My FFL charges only $15 for a transfer; I was thinking of getting another one just to put it away for some future use or sale. I figured it would always be worth the $264 I had invested-- but I live in KY and would have to pay the darn 6% sales tax. . . while others dealers have that price, it does NOT include shipping like Bud's price.

I just ordered a 9VE for my wife. It should arrive Monday and her CCW should arrive within a week. I have carried a 9VE for a year and think it's one of the best self defense pistols out there at any price. I have lightened my trigger pull to about 7-8# and will do the same to my wife's after she gets more familiar with handling and shooting it.

Rick,

Thanks for your reply - punctuation, or the lack thereof, or more precise language lead me to believe that Doc was referring to a $250.00 Sigma before the $50 rebate kicked in ("with" = "plus"). Locally, the cheapest FFL transfer I can manage to find is $40.00. Add 8.25% sales tax and you're better off buying locally (Academys has them everyday for $320.00 with tax and not including the rebate. I've been looking for a cheap used 9mm Sigma to complement my Sigma 40F, and to shoot ammo that I can't, or won't shoot out of my P7. In my opinion, the Sigma is the best semi-auto handgun buy on the market today.

Best of luck,

Dave

$40 for a transfer seem to be about double what it should be. Check your ZIP code here (I think the datbase list includeds the FEE amount)
Find An FFL

If you order from out of state, you should not need to pay any sales tax.

Bud's $299 INCLUDES shipping at no additional cost. They do charge 3% more for a credit card: I usually mail a personal check or M.O.-- if I am not in a hurry.
